Matt Letley
Matthew Letley (born 29 March 1961) is an English rock drummer, formerly with the English rock band, Status Quo. Career Letley attended Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School, in Rochester, Kent. His first recordings, with his brother Mark's progressive rock band Sindelfingen, were made when he was only 12; a live track including him was added to a CD reissue of their rare album ''Odgipig'' (he joined after the recording of the original album). As a drummer he played for a number of well-known artists, including a-ha, Bob Geldof, Vanessa Mae, Hank Marvin and Kim Wilde. In April 2015 Matt Letley produced and recorded drum section for the song of Russian alternative rock band 208 Talks of Angels. Released 4 February 2022, Matt performed and recorded drums for Stu Allen's debut single "Falling Out of Sight". Having joined Status Quo in 2000, his first tour with the band was in Germany. Status Quo (band)
Status Quo are a British rock band that formed in 1962. The group originated in London as The Scorpions and was founded by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster while they were still schoolboys. After a number of lineup changes, which included the introduction of Rick Parfitt in 1967, the band became The Status Quo in 1967 and Status Quo in 1969. As of 2022, the group have been active for 60 consecutive years (despite announcing a breakup in 1984, they would play Live Aid the following year and resume normal activities in 1986). They have had over 60 chart hits in the UK - more than any other rock band - including "Pictures of Matchstick Men", "Down Down", "Rockin' All Over the World", " Whatever You Want", " In the Army Now", and "What You're Proposing". ''Dog of Two Head'' is the fourth studio album by the English rock band Status Quo, released by Pye Records in November 1971. Background At the time of recording, the band consisted of Francis Rossi (credited on the sleeve as ''Mike Rossi''), Rick Parfitt (credited as ''Ritchie Parfitt''), Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan (credited as ''John Coughlan''). They had released a non-album single that March, a Rossi/Young song called "Tune to the Music", but it was not a hit. The band then set to work writing and recording a new album. A couple of the songs, such as the opening track "Umleitung" (German for 'diversion'), had been written the previous year. History Pearl was founded by Katsumi Yanagisawa -who began manufacturing music stands in Sumida, Tokyo- on April 2, 1946. Everett Joseph "Vic" Firth (June 2, 1930 – July 26, 2015) was an American musician and the founder of Vic Firth Company (formerly Vic Firth, Inc.), a company that makes percussion mallet, percussion sticks and mallets. Biography Vic Firth was born June 2, 1930, in Winchester, Massachusetts. He was raised in Sanford, Maine by parents Everett E. and Rosemary Firth, where he graduated from Sanford High School. Son of a successful trumpet player, he started learning the cornet at age four, turning later to percussion, trombone, clarinet, piano, and music arrangement.
