Matt Doorey
Matt Doorey (born 27 June 2000) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL. He previously played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Doorey is of English descent through his father, and of Indigenous Aboriginal Australian descent through his mother. Career 2020 Doorey made his first grade debut in round 14 of the 2020 NRL season for Canterbury-Bankstown against the Wests Tigers, scoring a try on debut in a 29–28 loss at Bankwest Stadium. 2021 Doorey made a total of 13 appearances for Canterbury in the 2021 NRL season as the club finished last and claimed the wooden spoon. 2022 Doorey made no appearances for Canterbury in the 2022 NRL season. On 25 September, Doorey played for Canterbury's NSW Cup team in their grand final loss to Penrith. The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. Penrith Panthers
The Penrith Panthers are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith that competes in the NRL. The team is based west of the centre of Sydney, at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Penrith are the current reigning NRL Premiers, having won the title four times. Penrith were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition in 1967. Penrith struggled for almost twenty years before finally reaching their first finals series. The club achieved its first Grand Final appearance in 1990 but were beaten by the Canberra Raiders 18–14. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. They compete in the NRL Telstra Premiership, as well as competitions facilitated by the New South Wales Rugby League, including the Canterbury Cup NSW, the Jersey Flegg Cup, Harvey Norman Women's Premiership, Tarsha Gale Cup, S.
