Matt Doll
Matthew James Thomas, known professionally as Matt Doll, is an Australian musician, singer-songwriter and producer. He was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter of the rock band, the Mavis's. He formed the group with his younger sister, Rebecca Thomas (Beki Thomas or Beki Colada), on vocals and keyboards in 1987. They released three studio albums, '' Venus Returning'' (July 1996), ''Pink Pills'' (April 1998) and ''Rapture'' (March 2003); however, they had already disbanded in December 2001. Subsequently, they have reformed in 2013, 2014 and 2018. In 2005 he co-wrote and supplied the vocals for "Sleazy", the debut single by Dirty South. He has co-written with other artists including Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey of the Go-Go's. Doll has fronted other bands: the B-Dolls, the Blow Waves (2006–13, 2015–16), and Video Video. Jane Badler (born December 31, 1953) is an American-Australian actress and singer. She is known for her role as Diana, the main antagonist in NBC's science fiction series '' V'' between 1983 and 1985. Badler also appeared in ABC's version of '' V'' in 2011, again playing an alien named Diana, who this time is the mother of the series' chief antagonist, Anna. The Go-Go's
The Go-Go's are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. Except for short periods when other musicians joined briefly, the band has had a relatively stable lineup consisting of Charlotte Caffey on lead guitar and keyboards, Belinda Carlisle on lead vocals, Gina Schock on drums, Kathy Valentine on bass guitar, and Jane Wiedlin on rhythm guitar. Charlotte Caffey
Charlotte Irene Caffey (born October 21, 1953) is an American guitarist, best known for her work in the rock band the Go-Go's in the 1980s, including writing "We Got the Beat". Career Caffey began her musical career playing bass guitar in the early Los Angeles punk band The Eyes before joining the Go-Go's in 1978 and switching to guitar. She remained friends with fellow band member Belinda Carlisle after the initial breakup of the Go-Go's and wrote songs for Carlisle's solo albums. From 1988 until 1992, she led her own band, The Graces, with Meredith Brooks and Gia Ciambotti, who released the album ''Perfect View'' in 1989. Jane Marie Genevieve Wiedlin (born May 20, 1958) is an American musician and singer, best known as the co-founder, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist of the new wave music, new wave band The The Go-Go's, Go-Go's. She has also had a successful solo career. The Go-Go's went on to become one of the most successful American bands of the 1980s, helping popularize new wave music with hits such as "We Got the Beat", "Our Lips Are Sealed", and "Vacation (The Go-Go's song), Vacation". Dragan Roganović ( sr-cyr, Драган Рогановић, ; born 15 November 1978), better known by his stage name Dirty South is a Serbian-Australian DJ, record producer and remixer based in Melbourne. Biography Born in Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia, now Serbia, Dirty South's producing career developed in tandem with his DJing career. He got his start at the age of 13 after he relocated to Melbourne, Australia, where he currently resides. ''Rapture'' is the third studio album by Australian pop band, The Mavis's, which was released in March 2003 by their record label, Festival Mushroom Records. It was produced by Kalju Tonuma, who had also worked on their previous two studio albums. The album's lead single, "Coming Home" (July 2000), peaked at No. 72 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The second single, "Happiness", was released in February 2001, which reached the top 100 on the ARIA Singles Chart and No. 9 on the related ARIA Alternative Singles Chart. The album had been delayed from its originally proposed release date of July 2001 due to problems between the band and the label. ''Venus Returning'' is the debut studio album by Australian pop band The Mavis's, released in May 1996 by record label Mushroom. It was produced by Kalju Tonuma (Nick Barker). Australian musicologist, Ian McFarlane, described how it "highlighted the band's brash sound, which mixed the Thomas siblings' idiosyncratic, imperfect vocal blend, crashing guitars, sugar-frosted melodies, goofy keyboard embellishments and odd instrumentation (sitar, Tibetan bells and Indian banjo)."
