Matthew Clark is a United Kingdom-based drinks distributor, owned by C&C Group. Founded in 1810, the business primarily serves public houses, restaurants, bars and hotels within the mainland UK. History The company was formed in 1810 by Matthew Clark, the son of Charles Clark, Inspector General of Imported Liquors and Distillery at the Port of London and later Merchants' Gauger of wines and spirits for the City of London merchants. It was known for most of its history as a City of London wine and spirit importer called Matthew Clark and Sons. Mathew Clark (born October 17, 1990) is an American-born Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman. He played in the National Hockey League with the Anaheim Ducks, after he was selected by the Ducks in the 2nd round (37th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career The son of a Canadian father, Mat Clark was born in Lakewood, Colorado, before he moved to Milton, Ontario with his family when he was four. Prior to turning professional, Clark played major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Brampton Battalion. After two seasons with the Battalion, and showing potential as a physical defensive defenseman by being selected as the best body checker and defensive defenseman in the Eastern Conference poll, he was signed to a three-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks on March 31, 2010. Matthew Terry Clark (born December 10, 1986) is an American former professional baseball first baseman and outfielder. He played for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Chunichi Dragons and Orix Buffaloes (NPB). Prior to beginning his professional career, he played college baseball at UC Santa Barbara and Louisiana State University. Matt Clark (born 16 November 1992) is an English football midfielder who plays for Southern League side North Leigh. Career Swindon born Clark started his career as a junior at his local club and progressed through the Centre of Excellence at The County Ground. Along with Abdul Said, Clark signed his first professional contract in April 2011, after helping the youth side win their third successive league title during the 2010–11 season. He made his professional debut in a 2–0 League One victory at Tranmere Rovers on 7 May 2011 as a late substitute. Matt Clark (1967–1998) was a prolific short story writer and the author of the novel ''Hook Man Speaks''. He held an MFA from Louisiana State University, and while a graduate student there, he was a fiction editor of the ''New Delta Review''. He became the director of the graduate writing program at LSU at the age of 29, and he died of liver and colon cancer in 1998 at the age of 31. His friends and fellow authors, Michael Griffith and Josh Russell, are responsible for continued efforts to bring his work to print.
