Matt Carmichael (journalist)
Matt Carmichael (born 21 April 1981) is a sports journalist. Carmichael is currently a presenter and reporter for ''Seven News'' in Sydney. Career Carmichael is a graduate of Brisbane State High School in Queensland, Australia, where he played rugby and cricket. He completed a Bachelor of Journalism at the Queensland University of Technology and then worked with the News-Mail in Bundaberg. He later joined Seven regional affiliate Seven Queensland and then ''Seven News Brisbane''. Carmichael has previously been a fill-in presenter for Pat Welsh and Ben Davis on ''Seven News Brisbane''. Carmichael is now based in Sydney working for ''Seven News'' as a full-time sports reporter. In January 2011, Carmichael was appointed sport presenter on '' Seven News Sydney'' replacing Johanna Griggs. Bundaberg is a city in the Bundaberg Region, Queensland, Australia, and is the tenth largest city in the state. Pat Welsh is a retired Australian sports journalist and reporter. Welsh was currently a sport presenter on '' Seven News Brisbane.'' Career In 1975, Welsh joined the Seven Network as a sports presenter and reporter. Pat is an Australian sports journalist, commentator, and sports editor. Welsh is best known for his rugby league and golfing commentary, and has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Australia and the United States for the Seven Network. Ben Davis (born 1974) is an Australian sports presenter and reporter. Davis is currently a sports presenter and reporter on ''Seven News Brisbane''. He has previously been a drive presenter on 4BC in Brisbane. Career Davis started his career at the Ten Network as a part-time cadet whilst he completed a degree in Communications (Journalism) at the University of Technology, Queensland. In 1995 at the age of 21, he finished his studies and an opportunity came up with ''Seven News'' in Brisbane. In 1997 and 1999, Ben won "Best Television Report" in the National Soccer League's national Media Awards for reports that he did on the Brisbane Strikers. On 9 September 2007 whilst doing a live cross from Melbourne during sport for ''Seven News Brisbane'' Davis was tackled and subsequently assaulted by two men. Johanna Griggs
Johanna Leigh Griggs (born 17 October 1973) is an Australian television presenter and former competitive swimmer. She won a bronze medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Griggs has been at the Seven Network since 1993 where she joined Seven Sport, first as a host at the Australian Open. Ryan Phelan is an Australian television journalist, media personality and presenter. Phelan has previously presented news updates on ''The Morning Show'' and was co-host of ''The Daily Edition''. Matt Shirvington
Matt Shirvington (born 25 October 1978) is an Australian athlete and television presenter who held the Australian 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. Shirvington is the third fastest Australian sprinter of all time. He qualified for the 100m semi-finals in Sydney 2000, finishing 5th. Shirvington is currently a sport presenter on '' Seven News Sydney'' and host of ''Sydney Weekender.'' Athletics Shirvington generally competed in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay events, finding the most success in the 100m sprint. ''Weekend Sunrise'' is an Australian breakfast television program, broadcast on the Seven Network and currently hosted by Monique Wright and Matt Doran. History In 2005 the Seven Network replaced its struggling Sunday morning program ''Sunday Sunrise'' with a program called ''Weekend Sunrise'', as an extension of the weekday brand. It originally was an hour-long (8 am – 9 am). Hosted by Chris Reason and Lisa Wilkinson, the program was successful and various critiques at the time called for the program to be lengthened to two hours (7:00 am – 9:00 am) and be extended to Saturday mornings as well as Sunday.
