Matrix (club)
Matrix is a nightclub in Berlin which opened in 1996. The large-scale discothèque is located at ''Warschauer Platz 18'' in ten basement vaults of the Berlin Warschauer Straße station, Warschauer Straße railway station. It houses up to nine bars and five dance floors, as well as an outdoor area. The venue has an overall size of 2,100 square meters, and is one of the biggest nightclubs in Berlin. In Germany, the club is known as one of the filming locations of the soap opera ''Berlin – Tag & Nacht'' of the channel RTL Zwei, RTL 2. Between 1996 and 2002 many international DJs of the electronic dance music scene such as Marusha, Chris Isaac, Westbam, Underground Resistance (band), Underground Resistance, Josh Wink, Lords of the Underground, Lady B, Sven Väth, Paul van Dyk performed at the club. Wendy Clark (born c. 1962), better known by her stage name Lady B, is an American female Rapping, rapper and Radio personality, radio DJ from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is one of the earliest female rappers in hip hop, and one of the first hip hop artists to record a Single (music), single, "To the Beat, Y'all", in 1979. She began her career with radio station WHAT (AM), WHAT in 1979, and recorded her first single later that year, "To the Beat Y'all". The song, the title of which became a stock rap phrase, was first released by TEC, a local Philadelphia-based record label, and released again in 1980 by Sylvia Robinson's rap label, Sugar Hill Records. DJ Size
A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. A record chart, in the music industry, also called a music chart, is a ranking of Sound recording and reproduction, recorded music according to certain criteria during a given period. Love Parade
The Love Parade (german: Loveparade) was a popular electronic dance music festival and technoparade that originated in 1989 in West Berlin, Germany. It was held annually in Berlin from 1989 to 2003 and in 2006, then from 2007 to 2010 in the Ruhr region. Events scheduled for 2004 and 2005 in Berlin and for 2009 in Bochum were canceled. On 24 July 2010, a crowd crush at the Love Parade in Duisburg caused the deaths of 21 people, with at least 500 others injured. As a consequence, the organizer of the festival announced that no further Love Parades would be held and that the festival was permanently canceled. Matthias Paul (; born 16 December 1971), known professionally as Paul van Dyk () is a German DJ, record producer and musician.
