Afternoon is the time after solar noon. It is the time when the sun is descending from its peak in the sky to somewhat before its terminus at the horizon in the west. Evening
Evening is the period of a day that starts at the end of the afternoon and overlaps with the beginning of night. The exact times when evening begins and ends depend on location, time of year, and culture, but it is generally regarded as beginning when the Sun is low in the sky and lasting until the end of twilight. ''Matinée'' is the debut album from British singer-songwriter Jack Peñate. It was released on 8 October 2007 on XL Recordings. The album reached number one on the UK Indie Albums chart, and number seven on the UK Albums Chart. It also reached number 74 on the Irish Albums Chart. The song "My Yvonne" features backing vocals by a young and then-unknown Adele. Critical reception ''Matinée'' was met with "mixed or average" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 53 based on 15 reviews. In a review for AllMusic, critic reviewer Sharon Mawer said: "Here was a chance to show that the music was worthy. With a singing style in the cockney accent of Lily Allen or Kate Nash, he differentiated himself from these singers by actually playing the guitar himself." In Argentina and other South American countries, a ''matinée'' (also spelled matiné) is a discothèque open to teenagers (usually between 14 and 18) before midnight. It was introduced in the 1990s because laws prohibited young people from going to dance in bars and nightclubs that served alcoholic drinks. Throughout the 20th century up to the 1980s, the word ''matinée'' was used in Argentina for the first film exhibition of the day, usually around 2 p.m. and often intended for children. A ''matinée'' would usually feature a double feature of two films, with a live performance in between (usually a singer or comedy act) in the early decades of the century. Machinima, originally machinema () is the use of real-time computer graphics engines to create a cinematic production. Most often, video games are used to generate the computer animation. The word "machinima" is a portmanteau of the words ''machine'' and ''cinema''. Machinima-based artists, sometimes called machinimists or machinimators, are often fan laborers, by virtue of their re-use of copyrighted materials (see below).
