Mateusz Bąk (born 26 February 1983 in Pruszcz Gdański) is a retired Poles, Polish association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for Lechia Gdańsk for the majority of his career. Over the course of his career Bąk was involved in 6 promotion winning seasons while playing for; Lechia Gdańsk (5) and Wisła Płock (1). In 1998 Lechia Gdańsk formed a merger with SKS Stoczniowiec Gdańsk, Polonia Gdańsk to create Lechia-Polonia Gdańsk. After 3 unsuccessful years Lechia wished to play football again independently which resulted in them having to re-start in the regional divisions of the sixth tier. For an 18 year old Bąk this offered him the chance for consistent playing time with the football team he grew up supporting. Pruszcz Gdański (; former pl, Pruszcz; german: Praust) is a town in Pomerania, northern Poland with 26,834 inhabitants (2010). Pogoń Szczecin Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Pogoń Szczecin (), is a Polish professional football club, based in Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, which plays in the Ekstraklasa, the top tier of the national football league system. Etar ( bg, Етър) is a Bulgarian sports football club based in Veliko Tarnovo, that plays in the Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria), Second League, the second level of Bulgarian football. Ekstraklasa Cup
The Ekstraklasa Cup ( pl, Puchar Ekstraklasy) was an elimination tournament for Polish football clubs who play in the Polish 1st Division Ekstraklasa. The Ekstraklasa Cup was the fourth attempt at introducing a League Cup competition in Poland. The first such tournament was a one-off tournament held in 1952 which Wawel Kraków won. Two other tournaments have also been held, the League Cup (1977–1978) and the Polish League Cup (1999–2002), these two tournaments mainly being cancelled after lack of interest from fans. A League Cup competition was again tried with the Ekstraklasa Cup in 2006, however this tournament again saw little interest from fans and the cup competition was cancelled in 2009 after the broadcasting rights expired. The format of the tournament resembled that as of the UEFA Champions League.
