Mateo Hrvatin
Mateo Hrvatin (born 15 August 1980 in Rijeka) is a former Croatian team handball, handballer, who played as left winger for RK Zamet, RK Zagreb, CO Zagreb and RK Crikvenica. He was selected by the Croatia men's national handball team, Croatian national team for the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship. Early life Mateo Hrvatin was born 15 August 1980 in Rijeka where he grew up. Hrvatin started playing handball in Rijeka at local club RK Kvarner. At Kvarner he passed various youth selections before playing at the senior level. Career He started his senior career at club RK Pećine which at the time was in the First B League. In 2000 he got called up to play for RK Zamet, Zamet in the Croatian Premier Handball League, First League (later Premier League) where he spent most of his career. The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor (HOO)) is the non-profit organization representing Croatian athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The Men's EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. Lino Červar (born 22 September 1950) is a Croatian retired handball coach. In 2003 he guided Croatia men's national handball team to gold in the 2003 World Championship as well as to gold at the 2004 Olympics. As a member of the largest centre-right political party in Croatia–the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ)–he was a member of the Croatian Parliament from 2003 to 2008. Apart from Croatian, Červar also holds Macedonian citizenship. Coaching career Červar started his club head coaching career in 1974 with RK Triko Novigrad. He was the head coach of RK Istraturist Umag from 1980 until 1991 when he was appointed as the head coach of Austrian team Klagenfurt.
