Francesco Matarazzo
Francesco Matarazzo (1443 – August 21, 1518) was an Italian historian of the European Renaissance. His fame rests largely on his masterwork ''Chronicles of the City of Perugia 1492-1503'' which has become a primary source for many later historians of the Italian Renaissance and in particular the city of Perugia. Life Although the exact date of his birth in unknown, it is believed that Matarazzo was born about the year 1443 in the small town of Deruta, near Perugia. Little is known of his family, but he is said to have been of noble descent, which would have guaranteed him an extensive education. As a teenager he was chosen to compose the Latin inscriptions that were inscribed beneath the portraits of famous citizens of Perugia that Braccio Baglione had painted to decorate his palace in the city. Raffaello Matarazzo (17 August 1909 – 17 May 1966) was an Italian filmmaker. Life Matarazzo started writing film reviews for the Roman newspaper ''Il Tevere'' before re-editing scripts for the Italian film company Cines. His first films were comedies until he shifted to making melodramas. With '' Catene'', produced by Titanus in 1949, he became the most successful director in Italy. Audience loved his melodramas. Pellegrino Matarazzo (born November 28, 1977) is an American professional soccer coach who currently manages TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. He was previously a youth coach of 1. FC Nürnberg and 1899 Hoffenheim. In December 2019, Matarazzo was appointed head coach of VfB Stuttgart. He has lived in Germany since 2000. Michael Richard Matarazzo (November 8, 1965 – August 16, 2014) was an American IFBB professional bodybuilder. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Matarazzo, took up boxing after being inspired by Rocky. He turned to bodybuilding and won the first contest he entered: the 1989 Gold's Gym Classic in Massachusetts. He moved to Venice, California, in early 1991, and, in a great surprise, won the USA Championships that year over favorite Flex Wheeler as well as Ronnie Coleman and Chris Cormier. It was only his second bodybuilding contest, and it earned 25-year-old Matarazzo the right to turn pro. He also competed for the first time in the Mr. Olympia contest in 1991. Maysa Figueira Monjardim (June 6, 1936 – January 22, 1977), better known as Maysa Matarazzo, was a Brazilian singer-songwriter, performer and actress. She is also associated with Bossa nova music but is widely known as a torch song (''fossa'') interpreter. James M. Matarazzo (January 4, 1941 – April 17, 2018) was an American academic and librarian who taught at Simmons University for almost 50 years. He was a national and global leader in the field of special libraries.
