Mat Whitecross
Mat Whitecross (born 21 September 1977) is an English film director, editor and screenwriter. He began his career working for filmmaker Michael Winterbottom and producer Andrew Eaton at Revolution Films, being also known for directing ''The Road to Guantánamo'', Ian Dury biopic ''Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll'', as well as music documentaries ''Oasis:'' ''Supersonic'' and '' Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams''. Whitecross has also directed music videos for Coldplay, Take That and The Rolling Stones, being a long-time collaborator of the former band. Life and career Whitecross was born and raised on Oxford. His parents were political refugees who were imprisoned in Argentina during the country’s Dirty War. ''A Head Full of Dreams'' is the seventh studio album by British rock band Coldplay, released on 4 December 2015, by Parlophone in the United Kingdom, and by Atlantic Records in the United States. Coldplay recorded the album from early to mid 2015, right after the completion of their previous album ''Ghost Stories'', with a markedly different style and sound from its predecessors. For various songs, Coldplay collaborated with Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo, Khatia Buniatishvili and Merry Clayton. The album was produced by Rik Simpson and Stargate. Violet Hill
"Violet Hill" is a song by British rock band Coldplay. It was written by all members of the band for their fourth album, ''Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends'' (2008). Built around a repeating guitar sound, it utilises a marching tempo, supported by the pianos and rhythms that accompany the song's lyrics. The song was initially made available as a free download on the band's website and was downloaded more than two million times. Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin revealed that the song had been in development for a number of years, with the first line and the first little melody of the song written, prior to its completion in 2007. James Roderick Moir (born 24 January 1959), better known by his stage name Vic Reeves, is an English comedian, artist, surrealist, musician, actor and television presenter, best known for his double act with Bob Mortimer as Reeves & Mortimer. Robert Renwick Mortimer (born 23 May 1959) is an English comedian, podcast presenter and actor. He is known for his work with Vic Reeves as part of their Vic and Bob comedy double act, and more recently the '' Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing'' series with comedian Paul Whitehouse. ''Vic Reeves Big Night Out'' was a cult British comedy stage show and later television series which ran on Channel 4 for two series in 1990 and 1991, as well as a New Year special. Its live incarnation marked the beginnings of the collaboration between Vic Reeves (real name Jim Moir) and Bob Mortimer and started their Reeves and Mortimer (also known informally as Vic and Bob) comedy double act. ''Live in Buenos Aires'' is the fifth live album by British rock band Coldplay. It was recorded on 14 and 15 November 2017 in La Plata, the final concerts of the A Head Full of Dreams Tour. The release happened on 7 December 2018 along with ''Live in São Paulo'', which was filmed on 7 and 8 November 2017. Together, they make up for the band's eighth compilation, ''The Butterfly Package'', a set that also includes the '' Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams'' film, a career-spanning documentary directed by Mat Whitecross. This release marked the first time one of the band's concerts was released in full. Packaging Icelandic artist Kristjana S. Williams was responsible for creating the package's artwork.
