Mastodon Discography
The discography of heavy metal band Mastodon consists of eight studio albums, two live albums, three compilation albums, one video album, six extended plays, 27 singles and 23 music videos. The band was formed in 2000 by guitarists Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher, bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders, and drummer Brann Dailor, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mastodon released their debut extended play, ''Slick Leg'' in 2001, before signing with Relapse Records and releasing their second EP ''Lifesblood'' the same year, followed by the band's first studio album in 2002, ''Remission''. After a tour promoting the album, Mastodon released their second studio album, '' Leviathan'', in August 2004. Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2000, the band's lineup of Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds (lead guitar/vocals), Bill Kelliher (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals) has remained the same since 2001. Mastodon has released eight studio albums, as well as a number of other releases. The band's 2002 debut album, '' Remission'', garnered significant critical acclaim for its unique sound. Lifesblood
''Lifesblood'' is the second EP by American metal band Mastodon. It was released on CD in 2001 and vinyl in 2004 by Relapse Records. The title ''Lifesblood'' is derived from a lyric in the song "Trampled Under Hoof", which appears on their debut album, Remission. Since the EP was only printed for a limited time, it has become rare and sought after by Mastodon fans. The limited prints come in a variety of colors, each with a certain amount produced: 100 clear, 500 red, 500 black, and a second press of 500 blue and black. Content ''Lifesblood'' features re-recordings of five songs from Mastodon's first release, ''9 Song Demo''. All five tracks later appeared on the compilation album '' Call of the Mastodon''. The Official Finnish Charts ( fi, Suomen virallinen lista; sv, Finlands officiella lista) are national record charts in Finland compiled and published by Musiikkituottajat – IFPI Finland. ''Blood Mountain'' is the third full-length studio album and major label debut by American heavy metal band Mastodon. The recording of the album finished in April 2006 and it was released on September 12 in the UK and September 12, 2006 in North America through Reprise Records. The album in full could be streamed at the band's MySpace page a few days prior to the release. Like Mastodon's previous studio work ''Leviathan'', ''Blood Mountain'' is a concept album. According to bassist Troy Sanders, "It's about climbing up a mountain and the different things that can happen to you when you're stranded on a mountain, in the woods, and you're lost. ''The Workhorse Chronicles'' is a DVD by American metal band Mastodon chronicling the first half-decade of the band's history. It was released on February 21, 2006 through Relapse Records. Content The DVD is divided into three sections. The first section is a documentary featuring interviews with Mastodon's members that trace the process of the band's formation and also provides information about previous bands its members had played in. The second section consists of 28 live performances recorded from 2000 to 2005 and includes rare footage of the band in their initial form as a five-piece. Content ''Call of the Mastodon'' contains the same nine songs as Mastodon's first release, ''9 Song Demo''; however, the compilation features re-recorded versions of the songs (the same recordings which appeared on the band's early EPs ''Slick Leg'' and ''Lifesblood'').
