Master Of The Bambino Vispo
The Master of the Bambino Vispo was a central-Italian painter active in the early 15th century. In the early 20th century, the art historian Osvald Sirén identified a group of unsigned paintings as being by the same artist. Sirén designated the artist as the Master of the Bambino Vispo (Master of the Lively Child) due to the unusually lively expression and movement of baby Jesus in these paintings. Osvald Sirén
Osvald Sirén (6 April 1879 – 26 June 1966) was a Finnish-born Swedish art historian, whose interests included the art of 18th century Sweden, Renaissance Italy and China. Biography Sirén was born in Helsinki. He held the J.A. Berg Professorship of the History and Theory of Art at the University of Stockholm 1908-1923 and was Keeper of painting and sculpture at Nationalmuseum 1928–1945. He died in Stockholm, aged 87. In the area of Chinese art, his major books include ''Gardens of China'', ''China and Gardens of Europe of the 18th century'', ''Chinese Painting: Leading Masters and Principles'', and ''The Walls and Gates of Peking'' (1924). Sirén was an early member of the theosophist movement. In 1956, he was awarded the Charles Lang Freer Medal. The Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze ("academy of fine arts of Florence") is an instructional art academy in Florence, in Tuscany, in central Italy. Mariotto Di Nardo
Mariotto di Nardo di Cione (''fl''. 1388–1424) was a Republic of Florence, Florentine painter in the Florentine Gothic style. He worked at the Duomo (Florence), Duomo of Florence, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore (Florence), Santa Maria Maggiore, and the Orsanmichele. He created both frescoes and panel paintings, and was also active as a manuscript Limner, illuminator. Personal life Mariotto flourished from 1394 to 1424. He was the grandson of Orcagna, Andrea di Cione di Arcangelo and the son of, and apprentice to, Nardo di Cione. Nardo had worked in Siena in 1380 and Volterra in 1381 as a stonecutter. The Doria Pamphilj Gallery is a large art collection housed in the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj in Rome, Italy, between Via del Corso and Via della Gatta. The principal entrance is on the Via del Corso (until recently, the entrance to the gallery was from the Piazza del Collegio Romano). The Bode-Museum (English: ''Bode Museum''), formerly called the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum (''Emperor Frederick Museum''), is a listed building on the Museum Island in the historic centre of Berlin. It was built from 1898 to 1904 by order of German Emperor William II according to plans by Ernst von Ihne in Baroque Revival style. Pietro di Domenico da Montepulciano (active 1418 - 1422) was an Italian painter active in the Marche region. Biography He was like born in Montepulciano nelle Marche (apparently a neighborhood near Filottrano in the province of Ancona). Other sources attribute his birth to Recanati, where a presumed nephew, Domenico di Paolo da Recanati, was active circa 1434-1450. Parri Spinelli ( – 1453) was an Italian ( Tuscan) painter of the early renaissance who was born in the Province of Arezzo. His father and teacher was Spinello Aretino (1350–1410), who was active throughout Tuscany. Parri Spinelli lived in Florence from 1411 or 1412 to 1419, and was a member of the workshop of Lorenzo Ghiberti. He became the most important painter in Arezzo upon his return. Spinelli died in 1453 in Arezzo Province. His paintings are notable for their bold colors and figures that are more elongated than those of his predecessors.
