John Harlow (director)
John Harlow (19 August 1896 – 1977) was an English film director, active from the 1930s to the 1950s. Harlow worked for smaller studios, mainly in crime/thriller genre potboilers, with his better known films including ''Candles at Nine'' (1944), the Sexton Blake thrillers ''Meet Sexton Blake'' and ''The Echo Murders'' (both 1945), ''Appointment with Crime'' (1946) and the 1947 reincarnation drama ''While I Live''. Hal Gordon (1894–1946) was a British film actor. A character actor, he appeared in over 90 films in both comic and straight roles. He started off as a lawyer's clerk but finding it dull he decided on the stage, making his music hall debut in 1912. Syd Crossley (18 November 1885 – 1 November 1960) was an English stage and film actor. Born in London in 1885, Crossley began his career as a music hall comedian.
