MasterChef Australia (series 6)
The sixth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on Monday, 5 May 2014 on Network Ten. This series was won by Brent Owens in the final against Laura Cassai on 28 July 2014. Coincidentally, Cassai and third-placed Emelia Jackson attended the same high school, Siena College. Owens is the last male winner until Sashi Cheliah from tenth series. Changes In a reversal from the previous season, the audition and preliminary stages were again broadcast as part of the series, and the weekly theme format was dropped. Series 6 also introduced the "power apron", which granted its wearer a number of advantages and control across a series of challenges. In elimination challenges and pressure tests, the contestant wore black aprons with their name in it. MasterChef Australia (series 15)
The fifteenth series of the Australian cooking game show ''MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 7 May 2023 on Network 10. The series was originally announced at Paramount's and Network 10's upfronts in October 2022. Subtitled ''Secrets & Surprises'', the season featured 18 contestants, with 17 new to the show. Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo returned to the show as judges from the previous season. This is the last season to feature Jock Zonfrillo following his death on 30 April 2023. Filming of the season was completed in March 2023, before the death of Zonfrillo. The series was originally intended to premiere on 1 May 2023. Following Zonfrillo's death on 30 April, a day before the season premiere, it was confirmed that the show's premiere would be postponed. The series ''The Bridge Australia'' aired in its place. Vikas Khanna (born 14 November 1971) is an Indian chef, restaurateur, cookbook writer, filmmaker and humanitarian. He is one of the judges of Star Plus series ''MasterChef India''. Barry "Jock" Zonfrillo (4 August 1976 – 30 April 2023) was a Scottish chef, television presenter and restaurateur. He was the founder of the Orana Foundation and a judge on '' MasterChef Australia''.
