The twelfth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'', also known as ''MasterChef Australia: Back To Win'', premiered on 13 April 2020. It is the first series to feature series four winner Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo serving as judges, after the departure of Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston in the previous season. This series involves former high-achieving contestants from the past eleven series of '' MasterChef Australia'', returning for another chance at the title of 'MasterChef' and a prize of A$250,000. Applications for contestants for the twelfth series of '' MasterChef Australia'' opened in May 2019. However, plans were changed when contestants from previous seasons were brought onboard instead of new contestants. Andy Allen (chef)
Andrew Peter Allen (born 30 April 1988) is an Australian cook. He is notable for winning the MasterChef Australia (season 4), fourth season of ''MasterChef Australia'' in 2012, and for being a judge on ''MasterChef Australia'' from MasterChef Australia (series 12), 2020. ''MasterChef Australia'' Allen won the MasterChef Australia (series 4), fourth season of ''MasterChef Australia''. After making it to the final, Allen beat fellow finalists Audra Morrice and Julia Taylor in a three-way contest. Facing only Taylor for the final two rounds, Allen won with a score of 76 to Taylor's 68. Allen appeared in an episode of ''MasterChef Australia All-Stars'' in August 2012. MasterChef Australia (series 6)
The sixth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on Monday, 5 May 2014 on Network Ten. This series was won by Brent Owens in the final against Laura Cassai on 28 July 2014. Coincidentally, Cassai and third-placed Emelia Jackson attended the same high school, Siena College. Owens is the last male winner until Sashi Cheliah from tenth series. The fourteenth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 18 April 2022 on Network 10. The format for this season is ''Fans & Favourites'', and features 12 new contestants and 12 former contestants. Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo returned to the show as judges from the previous season. In October 2021, Ten announced that ''MasterChef Australia'' would return for its 14th season in 2022, initially announced as ''Foodies Vs. Favourites''. In January 2022, production was temporarily halted after several members of the cast and production team contracted the COVID-19 virus. Junior MasterChef Australia (series 3)
The third series of ''Junior MasterChef Australia'', the second spin-off of the Australian reality television series ''MasterChef Australia'', premiered on 11 October 2020 after a nine-year hiatus. The judging panel consists of Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo. The winner would receive $25,000. Production On 27 April 2020, it was announced that a third season of ''Junior MasterChef Australia'' had been commissioned, nine years after the second series aired. The fifth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered Sunday 2 June 2013 on Network Ten, with replays airing at 11am the following day. This particular series of the show was won by Emma Dean who had defeated Lynton Tapp and Samira El Khafir in the grand finale on 1 September 2013. Poh Ling Yeow (; born 1973) is a Malaysian-born Australian cook, artist, actress, author and television presenter. Early life and history Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, into a fifth-generation Malaysian Chinese family, and her mother is of Hakka descent. Yeow attended SMK Convent Bukit Nanas. The tenth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 7 May 2018 on Network Ten. Judges Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston returned from the previous series, with Shannon Bennett as the contestants' mentor.
