The first series of the Australian reality television series ''MasterChef Australia'' began on 27 April 2009 and aired on Network Ten, concluding on 19 July 2009 when Julie Goodwin was crowned the winner. Matt Preston
Matt Preston (born 21 July 1961) is an English-Australian food critic, writer and television presenter. He is best known for his role as a judge on Network Ten's ''MasterChef Australia'' between 2009 and 2019, and for his weekly national food column that appears in NewsCorp's metro newspapers, with a combined reach of over 2.9 million Australians each week. Preston is also a senior editor for ''Delicious.'' and ''Taste'' magazines, and is also the author of four best-selling cookbooks. MasterChef Australia (series 6)
The sixth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on Monday, 5 May 2014 on Network Ten. This series was won by Brent Owens in the final against Laura Cassai on 28 July 2014. Coincidentally, Cassai and third-placed Emelia Jackson attended the same high school, Siena College. Owens is the last male winner until Sashi Cheliah from tenth series. Changes In a reversal from the previous season, the audition and preliminary stages were again broadcast as part of the series, and the weekly theme format was dropped. Adrian Richardson is an Australian chef and television presenter. Benjamin O'Donoghue (born 22 May 1970) is an Australian chef. Early years O'Donoghue was five years old when his family moved from England to Port Hedland, Western Australia, Port Hedland. Guy Grossi (born 13 May 1965) is an Italian-Australian chef and media personality. He owns several restaurants in Melbourne. John Torode
John Douglas Torode (born 23 July 1965) is an Australian-British celebrity chef and TV presenter. He moved to the UK in the 1990s and began working at Conran Group's restaurants. The fifteenth series of the Australian cooking game show ''MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 7 May 2023 on Network 10. The series was originally announced at Paramount's and Network 10's upfronts in October 2022. Subtitled ''Secrets & Surprises'', the season featured 18 contestants, with 17 new to the show. Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo returned to the show as judges from the previous season. This is the last season to feature Jock Zonfrillo following his death on 30 April 2023. Filming of the season was completed in March 2023, before the death of Zonfrillo. The series was originally intended to premiere on 1 May 2023. Following Zonfrillo's death on 30 April, a day before the season premiere, it was confirmed that the show's premiere would be postponed. The series ''The Bridge Australia'' aired in its place. The fourteenth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 18 April 2022 on Network 10. The format for this season is ''Fans & Favourites'', and features 12 new contestants and 12 former contestants.
