Masoom (1983 Film)
''Masoom'' () is the directorial debut of Shekhar Kapur. It is an adaptation of the 1980 novel ''Man, Woman and Child'' by Erich Segal which was also adapted into a Malayalam movie ''Olangal'' and an American movie ''Man, Woman and Child''. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi in lead roles along with Tanuja, Supriya Pathak and Saeed Jaffrey. It features Jugal Hansraj, Aradhana and Urmila Matondkar as child actors. The screenplay, dialogues and lyrics are by Gulzar with music by R.D. Burman. The film has been remade into a Telugu movie named '' Illalu Priyuralu'' and in Turkish as ''Bir Akşam Üstü''. Rahi Masoom Reza (September 1927 – 15 March 1992) was an Indian Urdu and Hindi poet and writer and a Bollywood lyricist. He won the Filmfare Best Dialogue Award for the hit film ''Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki'' in 1979, followed by '' Mili'' and ''Lamhe''. Biography Early life and education Reza was born in a Muslim family in a village named Gangauli, located in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, one of the most populous state in Northern India. He was the younger brother of educationist Moonis Raza and scholar Mehdi Raza. Mir Masoom Ali (born February 1, 1937) is a Bangladeshi American statistician, Distinguished Professor, educator, researcher and author. He migrated to the United States in 1969 and became a naturalized citizen in 1981. Ali founded the graduate and undergraduate programs in statistics at Ball State University. He co-founded the Midwest Biopharmaceutical Statistics Workshop (MBSW-History), held at Ball State University annually since 1978, and co-sponsored by the American Statistical Association. Mohammed Masoom Stanekzai (Pashto: محمد معصوم ستانکزی; 1958) is a former Minister, Chief Peace Negotiator, and chief of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. He became the chief of National Directorate of Security (NDS) in 2016.
