Masontown is a town in western Preston County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 510 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Morgantown metropolitan area. History Masontown was laid out and platted in 1856. The town was named after William Mason, a pioneer merchant. Located near Masontown is the Ralphsynder Decagonal Barn, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Geography Masontown is located at (39.551821, -79.800156). Preston High School (West Virginia)
Preston High School is a four-year public high school in Kingwood, West Virginia, United States. It houses nearly 1,200 students from the entirety of Preston County, West Virginia. The school colors are black and silver and the mascot is the Knight. Preston High School was recognized by the Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest award an American school can receive. School history Preston High School came into being with the consolidation of Bruceton High, Central Preston High, East Preston High and West Preston High. The school was built in Kingwood on the same campus as the existing vocational and academic center. This consolidation and the building of the new campus opened in 1992. All Good Music Festival
The All Good Music Festival and Camp Out was a weekend-long event held annually in July. Since its inception in 1997, it had been held at venues along the Mid-Atlantic, including Trip's Farm (Terra Alta) Masontown, West Virginia, Brandywine, Maryland and most notably Marvin's Mountaintop. It moved to Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio in 2012. All Good announced they would be taking a short hiatus in 2014 and not be having a festival. They returned in 2015 in Summit Point, West Virginia. Headlining acts were Primus, moe. and Cake. In 2016, it was announced the festival had been retired and would be replaced by a two-day event at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Background The event was organized by Walther Productions and included mostly jam and folk acts, though the festival had expanded its musical repertoire to include reggae, hip-hop fusion, bluegrass, funk, and rock. Ralphsynder Decagonal Barn
Ralphsnyder Decagonal Barn is a historic decagonal shaped barn located near Masontown, Preston County, West Virginia. The 10-sided barn was built in 1890, and is a frame building with an unusual steeple-shaped cupola. The barn was moved to its present site in 1981, which necessitated a number of replacements of portions of the original structure and roof.
