Mason Marchment
Mason Marchment (born June 18, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Despite not playing major junior hockey until the age of 19, Marchment was signed by the Maple Leafs to an American Hockey League contract in 2016. On March 17, 2018, Marchment signed a two-year entry level contract with the Maple Leafs. During the 2019–20 season, on January 1, 2020, after losing several forwards to injury, the Maple Leafs called up Marchment to make his NHL debut the following night against the Winnipeg Jets. He registered one assist in four appearances with the Maple Leafs, across multiple callups before he was traded by Toronto to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Denis Malgin on February 19, 2020. On November 3, 2020, Marchment as a restricted free agent was re-signed by the Panthers to a one-year, two-way contract. Toronto Marlies
The Toronto Marlies are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto. They compete in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a member of the North Division of the Eastern Conference. The Marlies is owned by Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, a company that owns several professional sports teams in the city, including their NHL affiliate, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Marlies have played their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum since 2005. The Marlies was established as the New Brunswick Hawks in 1978. The team relocated three times, to St. Catharines, Newmarket, and St. John's, before relocating to Toronto in 2005. Point (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. Despite the use of the terms "primary assist" and "secondary assist", neither is worth more than the other, and neither is worth more or less than a goal. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. The Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), is a women's professional ice hockey league located in the United States and Canada. The Connecticut Whale are a professional ice hockey team based in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). They play in Simsbury, Connecticut at the International Skating Center of Connecticut. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four charter franchises of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL; renamed PHF in 2021). Their name and colors pay homage to the Hartford Whalers, a former NHL and WHA franchise based in Connecticut. Kennedy Marchment
Kennedy Marchment (born December 6, 1996) is a Canadian ice hockey forward, currently playing with the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Playing career Across 142 NCAA games with the St. Lawrence Saints women's ice hockey program, Marchment scored 154 points, being named a top-10 finalist for the 2017 Patty Kazmaier Award. She was selected 2nd overall by the Buffalo Beauts in the 2017 NWHL Draft. In 2018–19, her rookie season in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL), Marchment put up 52 points in 36 games, as her team, Linköping HC Dam, made it to the SDHL finals, where they lost to Luleå HF/MSSK. Bryan Marchment
Bryan William Marchment (May 1, 1969 – July 6, 2022) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League for the Winnipeg Jets (1972–96), Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, Hartford Whalers, Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Calgary Flames between 1989 and 2006. He worked as a scout for the Sharks at the NHL level and as a part-time coach in the Sharks organization following his playing career.
