Mason Jones (guitarist)
Mason Jones is a San Francisco-based guitarist, graphic designer, music journalist, audio engineer and independent record label owner. Jones is a founding member of the psychedelic rock act SubArachnoid Space and for the music released under his monikers, such as Dada Fish, Numinous Eye and Trance. In 1988 he founded the music label Charnel Music which specialized in psychedelic, experimental and noise music. Biography Mason Jones formed the improvisation-based psychedelic project SubArachnoid Space in late 1995 with bassist Jason Stein and drummer Michelle Schreibner. After adding second guitarist Melynda Jackson to the line-up, the ensemble issued their full-length debut in 1996, titled ''Delicate Membrane''. Their second album ''Ether Or'' and live album ''Almost Invisible'' followed in 1997. Experimental Rock
Experimental rock, also called avant-rock, is a subgenre of rock music that pushes the boundaries of common composition and performance technique or which experiments with the basic elements of the genre. Artists aim to liberate and innovate, with some of the genre's distinguishing characteristics being improvisation (music), improvisational performances, avant-garde influences, odd instrumentation, opaque lyrics (or instrumentals), unorthodox structures and rhythms, and an underlying rejection of commercial aspirations. From its inception, rock music was experimental, but it was not until the late 1960s that rock artists began creating extended and complex compositions through advancements in multitrack recording. Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O., commonly shortened to Acid Mothers Temple or AMT, is a Japanese psychedelic rock band, the core of which formed in 1995. The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians and offshoot groups and collaborations, but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with only a few core members and frequent guest vocalists. The band has released albums frequently on a number of international record labels as well as the Acid Mothers Temple family record label, which was established in 1998 to document the activities of the whole collective. KK Null
, known by his stage name KK Null, is a Japanese experimental multi-instrumentalist active since the early 1980s. He began as a guitarist but learned how to compose, sing, play drums, and create electronic music. He also studied Butoh dance at Min Tanaka's workshop. KK Null joined the noise / progressive rock band YBO2 in 1984, issuing several albums and EPs throughout the remainder of the decade. Later he founded bands, such as Absolut Null Punkt (a.k.a. ANP) and the most well known, a self-described "progressive hardcore trio", Zeni Geva.
