Masahito Arai
Masahito Arai (新井正人, ''Arai Masahito''; born March 25, 1958) is a Japanese singer, composer and a member of JASRAC. He debuted with the group Pal in 1979, but split from the group due to creative differences. He made his solo debut in 1987 with the group Sentimental City Romance. Later, he became the lead vocalist of Brand New Omega Tribe from 1993 to 1994 after being scouted by producer Koichi Fujita. BNOT released two singles and one album before splitting. He is currently working as a composer and has appeared for live events of anime songs from Gundam-related music events and Super Robot Spirits Live. It was founded in 1939 as a nonprofit organization, and is the largest musical copyright administration society in Japan. Brand New Omega Tribe
Omega Tribe (Japanese: ; sometimes stylized as Ωmega Tribe) was a Japanese soft rock and city pop project that was led by producer Koichi Fujita, with the bands being handled by industry veterans Tetsuji Hayashi, Tsunehiro Izumi, and Hiroshi Shinkawa at different points of the band's existence. The project was active from the early 1980s to the late 1990s, having several hits during its lifespan with the help of lyricists, composers, and arrangers. The band underwent several core member changes as well as name changes, with the band changing vocalists three times with the introductions of Kiyotaka Sugiyama in 1983, Carlos Toshiki in 1986, and Masahito Arai in 1993. Koichi Fujita
was a Japanese guitarist, lyricist, composer, record producer, and businessman. He was known for producing for Kiyotaka Sugiyama, Carlos Toshiki, Toshiki Kadomatsu, Momoko Kikuchi, and Lazy. Biography Early life and career Fujita was born on March 20, 1947, in Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. As a child, he loved playing football, but spent most of his days alone because his mother died and his father remarried. He attended Chiba Prefectural Chiba High School where he heard a Beatles record, and bought an electric guitar. He was scouted by Watanabe Productions and debuted in 1967 as a member of Out Cast. He served as the guitarist after the previous guitarist, Shuichi Katagiri, left the band shortly before the band's debut. He left in the summer of 1967 after writing three songs, and would form The Love with Yuji Takamiya, Arai Hideo, Yasufumi Tajima (known as "Fumio Shimada" and "Heckel Tajima"), and Hiroshi Kobata. Kiyoshi Maekawa
(born ) is a Japanese singer and tarento. He is best known as the first lead vocalist of Hiroshi Uchiyamada and Cool Five, which was formed in 1967 and debuted in 1969 with the Japan Record Award-winning song "Nagasaki wa Kyō mo Ame Datta". As a frontman of the band, he spawned multiple hit singles such as "Awazu ni Aishite", "Uwasa no Onna","Soshite, Kōbe", "Nakanoshima Blues" and "Tokyo Sabaku" during the 1970s. In 1982, he released his first solo single "Yuki Ressha" composed and produced by Grammy-winning musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, and left the group five years later. During his solo career, he released only one top-20 hit "Himawari" in 2002, a ballad contributed by Masaharu Fukuyama. , previously known as MIO, is a Japanese pop singer and vocal trainer from Minato, Tokyo. She is known for her performances on the soundtracks of various anime, notably the theme songs of Sunrise's ''Combat Mecha Xabungle'' ''Aura Battler Dunbine'' ''Heavy Metal L-Gaim'' '' Star Musketeer Bismark'' and '' Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory''. The throaty, soulful timbre of her voice was uncharacteristic of Japanese vocalists of the 1980s (although it has become more commonplace today).
