María Clemente García
María Clemente García Moreno (born 11 October 1985) is a Mexican politician, sex worker and activist for the rights of sexual diversity. Since 2021, she served as Deputy of the LXV Legislature of the Mexican Congress. Previously a member of Morena, she resigned from the party on 31 March 2022. Early years García was born on 11 October 1985 in Mexico City. Throughout her life, she has distinguished herself as an activist for the human rights of the LGBT population and sexual diversity, identifying as a transgender woman. Political career Initially, García was a member of the Party of the Democratic Revolution and after the creation of Morena, she joined said party. Morena nominated her in 2021 as a candidate for federal deputy through the plurinominal route as a representative of sexual diversity. The Chamber of Deputies (Spanish: ''Cámara de Diputados'', ) is the lower house of the Congress of the Union, the bicameral parliament of Mexico. The other chamber is the Senate. The structure and responsibilities of both chambers of Congress are defined in Articles 50 to 70 of the constitution. History Bicameral legislature, including the Chamber of Deputies, was established on 4 October 1824. Unicameral Congress was in place from 7 September 1857 to 13 November 1874. Transgender Women Politicians
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process.
