Maryland Route 263
Maryland Route 263 (MD 263) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Plum Point Road, the state highway runs from MD 2/ MD 4 near Huntingtown east to a dead end at Plum Point. MD 263 also connects Prince Frederick with the northeastern Calvert County towns of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach; access to the towns is provided through a connection with MD 261 at Parran. The state highway was constructed in the late 1920s. Route description MD 263 begins at a directional crossover intersection with MD 2/MD 4, which run concurrently as Solomons Island Road, about north of Prince Frederick. The state highway heads northeast as a two-lane undivided road that immediately crosses Hunting Creek and passes through a forested area with scattered residential subdivisions. North Beach is a town in Calvert County, Maryland, United States. The population was 1,978 at the 2010 U.S. Census. In addition to a boardwalk, North Beach has multiple parks including Wetlands Overlook Park, Sunrise Garden, Callis Park, and the Walton Beach Nature Preserve. It is also the home of the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Maryland and is slated to be the new home of the Twin Beachs Public Library. Cornehill
Cornehill is a historic home located at Parran, Calvert County, Maryland, United States. It is a five-bay-long two-story Georgian brick house laid in Flemish bond with a steeply pitched gable roof with an exterior chimney at each gable end. One brick on the southwest corner contains the date 1786 and the initials "T.F." The initials purportedly refer to Thelbert Freeland, a member of an influential family in northeastern Calvert County. Outbuildings include slave quarters to the south of the house, and a tobacco barn with oak framing. Maryland Route 261 (MD 261) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. The highway runs from MD 263 near Parran north to MD 778 at Friendship. MD 261 connects Prince Frederick with and serves as the main street through the Chesapeake Bay beach communities of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach in northeastern Calvert County and Rose Haven in southeastern Anne Arundel County. The highway was constructed from north of its present terminus through Chesapeake Beach in the early 1930s. The road was built as MD 613 east from Friendship in the mid-1930s and extended east to Rose Haven in the late 1940s. Chesapeake Beach is a town in Calvert County, Maryland, United States. Its major attractions include the Chesapeake Beach Railway Station, the Chesapeake Beach Rail Trail, a water park, marinas, piers, and charter boat fishing.
