Maryborough Football Club
The Maryborough Football & Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Magpies'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Maryborough, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Bendigo Football Netball League. History Maryborough were Ballarat Football League premiers on four occasions from 1924 to 1931 but missed both the 1929 and 1930 seasons as they were without a home ground. The council had decided to allocate Princess Park to the Maryborough District Football Association (MDFA). After returning and winning the 1931 premiership, Maryborough applied to join the Bendigo league and were suspended from the Ballarat league as a result. From 1932 to 1940, a separate club called Maryborough United participated in the Bendigo league. The original club reformed in 1945 and they spent a season in the MDFA before returning to the Ballarat league in 1946. The Australian Football Hall of Fame was established in 1996, the Centenary year of the Australian Football League, to help recognise the contributions made to the sport of Australian rules football by players, umpires, media personalities, coaches and administrators. Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. Jed Adcock
Jed Adcock (born 15 November 1985) is a former professional Australian rules footballer and current coach who played for the and in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was co-captain of the Brisbane Lions in 2013 and sole captain in 2014. In 2017 he split with ex-wife Hayley Adcock and is now married to Amber née (Ward) and share a son together Hugo (b. may 2020). Jed shares two children Lily & Edward with ex-wife Hayley. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. Stewart Crameri (born 10 August 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon, Western Bulldogs and Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Crameri was selected by Essendon with the forty-third pick in the 2009 rookie draft. After spending three seasons with the Bendigo Bombers, Crameri was finally given a chance at senior football after strong rumors in 2008 that he would be drafted by Essendon. Jack Worrall
John Worrall (20 June 1861 – 17 November 1937) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fitzroy Football Club in the VFA, and a Test cricketer. He was also a prominent coach in both sports and a journalist. A small, nuggety man with broad shoulders, pink complexion and intense brown eyes, Worrall was one of Australia's great all-round sports people of the nineteenth century, and was involved in Australian football and cricket at the elite level for many decades. After his retirement, he coached both sports, and is considered the "father" of Australian football coaching. Worrall had an extended career as a sporting journalist, and he was a highly respected member of the press box right up until his death in 1937. Colin Watson (footballer)
Colin Campbell Watson (12 October 1900 – 20 October 1970) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League. Watson was best on ground for South Warrnambool in the 1918 Warrnambool District Football Association grand final and was enticed down to Melbourne in 1919 where he played seven consecutive games from rounds three to nine with VFA side Port Melbourne, when a bout of influenza at the height of the 1919 Influenza pandemic forced him home to Warrnambool, where he finished off the season with South Warrnambool. Roy Cazaly went down to coach South Warrnambool during the 1919, 1920 and 1921 finals series and coached Colin Watson and immediately saw an immensely talented footballer, who was then invited to play with St. Kilda in 1920.
