Mary Lawrence (actress)
Mary Lawrence (May 17, 1918September 24, 1991) was an American actress, who had a lengthy career in film and television. She was the wife of film director Delmer Daves. She had a recurring role in the syndicated television series ''Casey Jones'', where she played Jones' wife Alice with Alan Hale Jr. as her husband. Lawrence also appeared in episodes of ''The Bob Cummings Show'', ''The Donna Reed Show ''The Donna Reed Show'' is an American sitcom starring Donna Reed as the middle-class housewife Donna Stone. ''The Lady Says No'' is a 1951 American comedy film directed by Frank Ross (producer), Frank Ross, starring Joan Caulfield and David Niven, photographed by James Wong Howe, and featuring sequences filmed at Fort Ord, Pebble Beach, California, Pebble Beach and Carmel, California. The supporting cast features Frances Bavier, who later played "Aunt Bee" on television's ''The Andy Griffith Show''. Director Ross was married to Caulfield, the film's leading lady. ''The Stratton Story'' is a 1949 American biographical film directed by Sam Wood that tells the true story of Monty Stratton, a Major League Baseball pitcher who pitched for the Chicago White Sox from 1934 to 1938. ''Sea Hunt'' is an American action adventure television series that aired in syndication from 1958 to 1961 and was popular for decades afterwards. The series originally aired for four seasons, with 155 episodes produced. It stars Lloyd Bridges as former Navy diver Mike Nelson, and was produced by Ivan Tors. Development Series executive producer Ivan Tors conceived the idea for ''Sea Hunt'' while working on the 1958 film ''Underwater Warrior''. He tried in vain to sell the series to all three major networks, but each network passed on it because they felt that a series set underwater could not be sustained. Tors then decided to sell it into the first-run syndication market. He teamed up with Ziv Television Programs and was able to sell it to more than 100 syndicated markets before it debuted in January 1958. Lloyd Bridges was cast as lead character Mike Nelson.
