Mary Langan
Mary Langan RJM is an Irish Roman Catholic nun working in Pakistan since 1983. In 2013 the Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam was conferred on her by President Asif Ali Zardari for her services in the field of education. Early life Langan was born in Ireland on 17 June 1948. Her parents were Michael Langan, a contractor and Marian. She studied with the Sisters of Jesus and Mary at the boarding school in Gortnor Abbey, Crossmolina, County Mayo. Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam
Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam, ( ur, تمغہِ قائدِ اعظم, , ''Medal of the Great Leader''), is a civil award conferred by the Government of Pakistan on those who have attained academic distinction in the fields of science, art, literature, or distinction in the fields of sports and nursing; or for rendering dedicated services with selfless devotion in human rights and public service. This award, like other civilian awards, is announced on August 14 each year and its investiture takes place on the following year on 16 February. It is the fifth-highest honour given by the Government of Pakistan to civilians. Joseph Coutts
Joseph Coutts (born 21 July 1945) is a Pakistani prelate of the Catholic Church, who served as Archbishop of Karachi from 2012 to 2021. He served as Bishop of Faisalabad from 1998 to 2012. Pope Francis created Coutts a cardinal on 28 June 2018. Biography Coutts was born in Amritsar, British India on 21 July 1945. He received his religious training at the Christ the King seminary in Karachi and was ordained a priest in Lahore, Pakistan, on 9 January 1971. After ordination, he completed ecclesiastical studies in Rome from 1973 to 1976 and then became professor of philosophy and sociology at Christ the King Regional Seminary, Karachi, rector of St. Mary's Minor Seminary, Lahore, and diocesan vicar general from 1986 to 1988. Benny Mario Travas is a Pakistani prelate of the Catholic Church and Archbishop of Karachi, Pakistan. He served as Bishop of Multan from 2015-2021. Biography Travas was born in Karachi, Pakistan, on 21 November 1966. He received his early education from St. Patrick's High School, Karachi from where he graduated in 1983. He graduated from the Christ the King seminary and was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Karachi on 7 December 1990 and then spent seven years in pastoral work. In 1997, he received a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. On his return to Pakistan he was professor of canon law at the National Catholic Institute of Theology, rector of St. Pius X Minor Seminary in Karachi, and Vicar-General of the Archdiocese of Karachi.
