Mary Carter Reitano
Mary Carter Reitano (''née'' Carter; born 29 November 1934) is a former tennis player from Australia. As a junior player she won the girls' singles title at the Australian Championships in 1951 and 1952. Reitano won the singles title at the 1956 Australian Championships, defeating Thelma Long in the final in three sets after surviving a match point in the third set. At the 1959 Australian Championships Reitano won her second singles title after a straight-sets victory in the final against Renée Schuurman. Additionally she reached the Australian semifinals in six other occasions. Lorraine Coghlan
Lorraine Coghlan Robinson (née Coghlan; born 23 September 1937) is a former tennis player from the state of Victoria in Australia. In 1956, she won the Australian Championships Girls' Singles title. Coghlan teamed with Bob Howe to win the mixed doubles title at Wimbledon in 1958. Coghlan and Howe were also the runners-up in mixed doubles at the 1958 French Championships. Robert Anthony John Hewitt (born 12 January 1940) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. In 1967, after marrying a South African, he became a South African citizen. He has won 15 major titles and a career Grand Slam in both men's and mixed doubles. In 2015, he was convicted of rape and sexual assault of girls he was coaching in the 1980s and 1990s; Hewitt was sentenced to six years in jail, and was subsequently expelled from the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Early life Hewitt was born and grew up in Dubbo, Australia, 400 kilometres west of Sydney. In the 1970s, he and his South African wife Dalaille (née Nicholas) moved to Johannesburg, South Africa. Robyn Ebbern (born 2 July 1944) is an Australian former tennis player who was active in the 1960s. Biography Born in Brisbane, Ebbern and Margaret Smith won the Australian Championships doubles in 1962 and 1963 and the U.S. Championships doubles in 1963. In the same year in the French Championships, they were defeated in the final by Renée Schuurman and Ann Haydon-Jones. In January 1962, she reached the final of the Tasmanian Championships in which she was defeated by Margaret Smith. Darlene Hard
Darlene Ruth Hard (January 6, 1936 – December 2, 2021) was an American professional tennis player, known for her aggressive volleying ability and strong serves. She captured singles titles at the French Championships in 1960 and the U.S. Championships in 1960 and 1961. With eight different partners, she won a total of 13 women's doubles titles in Grand Slam tournaments, and was the finest doubles player of her generation. Her last doubles title, at the age of 33 at the 1969 US Open, came six years after she had retired from serious competition to become a tennis instructor. The 1962 Australian Championships was a tennis tournament that took place on outdoor Grass courts at the White City Tennis Club, Sydney, Australia from 5 January to 15 January.
