Marvin Leath
James Marvin Leath (May 6, 1931 – December 8, 2000) was a United States House of Representatives, U.S. Representative from Texas. Born in Henderson, Texas, Leath attended the Rusk County public schools and graduated from Henderson High School (Texas), Henderson High School in 1949. He attended Kilgore Junior College. B.B.A., University of Texas, Austin, 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 achieving the rank of first lieutenant. Coached football and track, Henderson High School from 1957 to 1959. Business salesman, 1959. Banking, 1962. Officer and director in five Texas banks, and two manufacturing companies. He served as special assistant to United States Representative William R. Poage from 1972 to 1974. The 96th United States Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. Henderson is a city and the county seat of Rusk County, Texas, in Northeast Texas. Its population was 13,271 at the 2020 census. Henderson is named for James Pinckney Henderson, the first governor of Texas. The city has functioned as a major crossroads in Northeast Texas over the last two centuries. Texas's 11th Congressional District
Texas's 11th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives is in the midwestern portion of the state of Texas, stretching from the Permian Basin through the Hill Country to the outer fringes of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Major cities in the district are Andrews, Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, Granbury, and Brownwood. The current Representative from the 11th district is Republican August Pfluger. Texas has had at least 11 districts since 1883. The current configuration dates from the 2003 Texas redistricting; its first congressman, Mike Conaway, took office in 2005.
