Marvelous 3
Marvelous 3 is an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. They are best known for their 1998 song "Freak of the Week." History Marvelous 3 was formed by lead singer/guitarist Butch Walker, bass guitarist Jayce Fincher, and drummer Doug Mitchell (a.k.a. Mitch "Slug" McLee.) All three band members had played together previously in glam outfit SouthGang, Floyds Funk Revival and The Floyds, before reemerging as Marvelous 3 in 1997 when they released their first album, ''Math and Other Problems'', which would sell just over 4,000 copies by January 2000. The band's most successful album – ''Hey! Album'' – was released in fall 1998 with the lead single "Freak of the Week" reaching No. 5 on ''Billboards Modern Rock Tracks chart and No. 23 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Butch Walker
Bradley Glenn "Butch" Walker (born November 14, 1969) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was the lead guitarist for the glam metal band SouthGang from the late 1980s to early 1990s as well as the lead vocalist and guitarist for rock band Marvelous 3 from 1997 until 2001. Career SouthGang Walker grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, working as a guitarist and performer in several rock bands in the 1980s, including Badd Boyz and Byte the Bullet. Byte the Bullet moved to Los Angeles in 1988 and were signed to Virgin Records within the year. The band then changed their name to SouthGang and released two albums, ''Tainted Angel'' in 1991 and ''Group Therapy'' in 1992. SouthGang was one of the first bands to tour China in the early 1990s, however they eventually disbanded after Virgin modified their contract and tried to send them in the wrong direction. Music Midtown
Music Midtown is a large music festival that was held in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, annually from 1994 to 2005, and—after a six-year hiatus—returned in 2011. During its original run, the festival ran for one weekend each year. The event drew in excess of 300,000 attendees per year during its peak years. Music Midtown started as a two-day event with three stages. It later grew to a three-day event. During the years that the festival had a three-day run, the event had six main stages. Each of these stages were typically sponsored by a local Atlanta radio station and were used to present dozens of bands playing a wide variety of musical genres. Due to a decline in attendance and rising expenses after the 2005 Music Midtown, promoters placed the festival on hiatus in 2006. The hiatus ran through 2010. ''ReadySexGo'' is the third album from Atlanta rock band Marvelous 3. It was released on September 12, 2000. The album produced two singles, "Sugarbuzz" and "Get Over", that received moderate regional airplay. The album was the band's last, as they battled record label executives at Elektra. The album peaked at #196 on the ''Billboard'' 200 charts two weeks after its release. The recording sessions also yielded studio cover versions of "Always Something There To Remind Me" by Naked Eyes (a live staple of the band), "People Are Strange" by The Doors and Steely Dan's "Reelin' In The Years", which was used on the soundtrack of the Jim Carrey film ''Me, Myself & Irene''. Lit is an American rock band formed in 1988 in Orange County, California. They have released seven studio albums, but are best known for their 1999 album '' A Place in the Sun'', which featured the hit single " My Own Worst Enemy".
