Maruschka Waldus
Maruschka Waldus (born 20 September 1992) is a Dutch football player who currently plays for Adelaide United in Australia. She made her debut in May 2015 in the NWSL, being the first Dutch soccer player in the NWSL. Together with Marlous Pieëte, Maruschka Waldus in 2017 was the first Dutch soccer player to play in the W-League in Australia. Career Waldus was a two-time member of the KNVB Talent Team (2009 and 2010) in Amsterdam and attended the Johan Cruyff Academy in the Netherlands. In 2011, she played three seasons for the soccer club SC Heerenveen near her home town, first in the Eredivisie, which changed later to the BeNe League. She was named to the women's first team for three consecutive seasons and was team captain in each of the last two seasons. She scored nine goals during her career at Heerenveen, including six in 2013. Heerenveen
Heerenveen (, fry, It Hearrenfean ) is a town and municipality in the province of Friesland (Fryslân), in the Northern Netherlands. In 2021, the town had a population of 29,790 (1 January) while the municipality had a population 50,859 (1 July). History The town was established in 1551 by three lords as a location for the purpose of digging peat which was used for fuel, hence the name (''heer'' is "lord", ''veen'' is "peat"). W-League (Australia)
A-League Women (known as the Liberty A-League for sponsorship reasons), formerly the W-League, is the top-division women's soccer league in Australia. The W-League was established in 2008 by Football Australia (then known as Football Federation Australia) and was originally composed of eight teams of which seven had an affiliation with an existing A-League Men club. The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. BeNe League
The BeNe League was the highest women's football league in Belgium and the Netherlands. To increase competitiveness in their national leagues, the BeNe League was a joint cooperation between the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Royal Dutch Football Association. Its first season was played in 2012–13 following the successful cooperation with the one match BeNe Super Cup, that paired both countries' national champions.
