Marty Wilson (basketball)
Lamar "Marty" Wilson (born October 17, 1966) is an American college basketball coach, currently an assistant coach at UC Berkeley. Wilson previously served as head coach at his alma mater Pepperdine University. Playing career As a player at Pepperdine, Wilson ended his career in fifth place on the all-time assists list with 342 (he still ranks ninth). Under head coach Jim Harrick, Wilson was a backup point guard in 1984-85 and 1985–86, and the Waves advanced to the NCAA Tournament both seasons. A back injury sidelined Wilson for the entire 1986-87 campaign, but he took over as the starting point guard in 1987-88. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the 17th game of the season, though the Waves still advanced to the NIT. Tom Asbury took over as head coach in 1988-89, and Wilson's extensive rehabilitation paid off as he returned to the starting lineup as a senior and led the Waves to a 20-13 record and the second round of the NIT. California Golden Bears Men's Basketball
The California Golden Bears men's basketball team is the college basketball team of the University of California, Berkeley. The program has seen success throughout the years, culminating in a national championship in 1959 under coach Pete Newell, and the team has reached the final four two other times, in 1946 and 1960. The current head coach is Mark Fox, who began his tenure at Cal in 2019. The team plays its home games at Haas Pavilion, which was long known as Harmon Gym before being heavily renovated with money donated in part by the owners of Levi Strauss & Co. Brad Holland
John Bradley Holland (born December 6, 1956) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played for four years at UCLA (from 1975 to 1979). He was a member of the 1980 Los Angeles Lakers championship team. He was the University of San Diego head basketball coach until March 2007. On April 25, 2007, he was named as one of three finalists to become the new head coach of UC Riverside's men's basketball program, but lost out to Jim Wooldridge. Holland served as an assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara during the 2008–2009 and 2009–2010 seasons. The West Coast Conference (WCC) — known as the California Basketball Association from 1952 to 1956 and then as the West Coast Athletic Conference until 1989 — is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I consisting of ten member schools across the states of California, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Wyking L. Jones (born January 8, 1973) is an American basketball coach, former college and professional player, basketball broadcasting analyst, and actor who was most recently the head coach of the California Golden Bears men's basketball program, and is now an assistant on the men’s team at the University of Washington. The 2017–18 Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team represented Pepperdine University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Waves were led by seventh-year head coach Marty Wilson and played their home games at the Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, California as members of the West Coast Conference. Jim Boylen
James Francis Boylen (born April 18, 1965) is an American professional basketball coach. He was the coach of the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Previously, Boylen served as head coach for the University of Utah, coaching the program from 2007 to 2011 before being fired on March 12, 2011. The Utah job was his first head coaching position after spending over a decade as an assistant at both the NBA and NCAA levels. He replaced Ray Giacoletti, who was fired from Utah on March 3, 2007. Ray Giacoletti
Raymond Bryan Giacoletti (born April 14, 1962) is a retired men's basketball coach, having served as head coach at Drake University, and The University of Utah. He played collegiate basketball at Minot State University in North Dakota from 1980 to 1984, where he was a four-year letterman and a team captain for two seasons. He received his degree in physical education in 1985. Giacoletti was previously the head coach at North Dakota State University, Eastern Washington University, and the University of Utah.
