Martti Katajisto
Martti Viljami Katajisto (6 December 1926 – 25 January 2000) was a Finnish actor. He is best remembered as a young and angry man Nokia in a film ''Ihmiset suviyössä'' (1948). For this role, he received a Jussi Award as the best actor in a leading role. Theatrical career At the beginning of his career, Katajisto became known as a favorite of teenage girls', but later he also appeared in a number of major theatre classics. Katajisto was employed by the Finnish National Theatre from 1954 until his retirement. During his theatrical career, he was seen in such classics as ''The Brothers Karamazov'', ''The Ghost Sonata'', ''The Taming of the Shrew'', ''Romeo and Juliet'' and ''The Merchant of Venice''. In films Martti Katajisto's breakthrough in cinema came in 1948 with a Valentin Vaala film ''Ihmiset suviyössä''. Veikko Aaltonen
Veikko Aaltonen (born 1 December 1955 in Sääksmäki, Finland) is a Finnish director, editor, sound editor, production manager and film and television writer and actor. Aaltonen began his career in the mid-1970s working as a sound editor on various films. Early in his career, he worked with Rauni Mollberg as co-writer on two of his films, ''Milka'' (1980) and '' The Unknown Soldier'' (1985). In 1987, Aaltonen directed his first feature film, ''Tilinteko'', which he co-wrote with Aki Kaurismäki, who also produced the film. Five years later, he directed a film that has been considered his primary breakthrough, ''The Prodigal Son'' (1992). Aaltonene was the first Finnish director to work on topics like pedophilia, Sadomasochism and sexual subjugation without credibility and morality. Timo Johannes Koivusalo (born 31 October 1963) is a Finnish actor, director, writer, composer and musician. His most successful film to date was '' Rentun Ruusu'', released in 2001. Life and career Koivusalo was born in Pori, and trained as a chef and a mental nurse, before getting a breakthrough into the entertainment industry with his character Pekko Aikamiespoika, developed while he was working as a stand-up comedian. ''Ihmiset suviyössä'' (''People in the Summer Night'') is a Finnish film from 1948. Directed by Valentin Vaala, it is based on Frans Eemil Sillanpää's 1934 novel of the same title. Plot The film concentrates on the destinies of a small group of people during one summer night. All events in the film are told from two different perspectives. During the night people are falling in love, fighting drunk, dying, and being born. Nature is just as important a part of the movie as the actors are. The novelist Sillanpää himself had told Vaala to keep in mind that there should be only one main character, and that is the summer night. Reception ''Ihmiset suviyössä'' received mostly positive reviews from Finnish critics.
