Martin Neumann
Martin Neumann (born 27 January 1956) is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) who served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Brandenburg from 2009 until 2013 and again from 2017 until 2021. Early life and career Neumann was born in Vetschau, Brandenburg. After studying technical building equipment at the Technical University of Dresden, he was awarded a doctorate in 1987 as Dr.-Ing. at the Cottbus University of Engineering after successfully defending his dissertation on the subject of investigating the thermal insulation behaviour of heavy ventilated exterior wall structures. From 1987 to 1990, Neumann worked as the urban planning director in Lübbenau. Since 1995, Neumann has been a sworn expert for building services, heat, cold and noise insulation. Vetschau
Vetschau/Spreewald ( dsb, Wětošow) is a town in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district, in Lower Lusatia, Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated in the Spreewald, 18 km west of Cottbus. History Vetschau was first mentioned in 1302 as Veczicz. In the course of time, the name of the town changed from Vetczaw in 1434 via Fetzow in 1450 to Fetczaw in 1480. In 1527 the town was first called Fetzscho, the formal town charter was granted to Vetschau in 1543. The coat of arms for Rath and Gmaind of Marckhts Vetzschew was issued to the town on March 17, 1548 by King Ferdinand I in Augsburg. The document was long lost and was rediscovered only in July 2005 in an attic in Vetschau. 1994 Brandenburg State Election
The 1994 Brandenburg state election was held on 11 September 1994 to elect the members of the 2nd Landtag of Brandenburg. The incumbent government was a traffic light coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Free Democratic Party (FDP) and The Greens, led by Minister-President Manfred Stolpe. The SPD achieved a 16% swing in its favour and won an absolute majority with 54% of the vote, while both of its coalition partners lost their seats. The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) suffered a major swing against it, falling to 18.7%. The Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS) also finished on 18.7%, just 62 votes behind the CDU. Minister-President Stolpe continued in office. This election marked the first and last time that a party gained an absolute majority in Brandenburg.
