Martin Mate
Martin Mate (12 November 1929 – 28 November 2023) was a Canadian Anglican priest who served as Bishop of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador from 1980 to 1992. Born on 12 November 1929, he was educated at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and ordained in 1953. as a curate at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, St John's, Newfoundland. The Anglican Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador is one of seven dioceses of the Ecclesiastical Province of Canada in the Anglican Church of Canada. Bonavista Bay
Bonavista Bay (BB) is a large bay located on the northeast coast of the island of Newfoundland (island), Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. It opens directly onto the Atlantic Ocean. The bay is demarcated by Cape Freels to the north and Cape Bonavista to the south. Cape Bonavista is also the eastern limit of the Bonavista Peninsula, which forms the bay's southern shore. The topography of the central western shore of the bay is composed of numerous channels and islands. This area also hosts Terra Nova National Park. Containing many densely forested islands, Bonavista Bay is virtually landlocked. With temperatures sometimes reaching -1 °C, it attracts the occasional iceberg. However, due to the dense forestry, the region inside the bay can sometimes be warm enough for lobster cultivation. Donald Frederick Harvey (born 13 September 1939) is a Canadian Anglican bishop. He was the Moderator Bishop and director of the Anglican Network in Canada, a founding diocese of the Anglican Church in North America, from 2009 to 2014, and the Director of Anglican Essentials Canada. He was previously the Bishop of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador in the Anglican Church of Canada from 1993 to 2004. Early life and family Born in St John's, Newfoundland on 13 September 1939, Harvey was educated at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and, following a short period of service as a school teacher, ordained a priest in the Anglican Church of Canada in 1964. He published his M.A. dissertation in 1987 on the life and poetry of the Reverend John Keble, a founding member of the Anglo-Catholic movement, and lectured in English language and literature at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Robert Lowder Seaborn
Robert Lowder Seaborn (July 9, 1911 – February 15, 1993) was a Canadian minister of the Anglican faith. He was the Anglican Bishop of Newfoundland in Canada from 1965 to 1980. Born in Toronto, Ontario he attended Normal Model School and completed high school at the University of Toronto Schools. He earned a BA in Classics in 1932 and a degree in divinity at University of Trinity College at the University of Toronto and spent 1936–37 at Oxford University. He was ordained deacon in 1934, priest in 1935 and served as assistant curate in his initial parish, St. Simon-the-Apostle Church in Toronto, followed by St. James' Cathedral Toronto from 1937 to 1941. He then became rector of St. Peter's in Cobourg, Ontario (1941–48). Pouch Cove
Pouch Cove is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The population is 2,063 according to the Canada 2021 Census. It is located on the northeast Avalon Peninsula, 27 kilometres north of St. John's, the province's capital city. The origin of Pouch Cove dates back to 1611, when fisherman from British ships, together with carpenters and other artisans, established a settlement. The town was officially incorporated in 1970. The post office was established in 1975. The Town has a Council consisting of a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and five councillors. Catalina ( ) is a community located on the eastern side of the Bonavista Peninsula, in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Cookshire-Eaton, Quebec
Cookshire-Eaton is a city in the Estrie region of Quebec. It is the seat of Le Haut-Saint-François Regional County Municipality. Sherbrooke Airport is located there. As part of the 2000–2006 municipal reorganization in Quebec, on July 24, 2002 the city of Cookshire, the municipality of Newport and the township of Eaton were merged to form Cookshire-Eaton; prior to this, on April 25, 2001, the village of Sawyerville had merged with Eaton. After a 2004 referendum, however, Newport de-merged and was reconstituted as an independent municipality as of January 1, 2006. Nevertheless, Newport and Cookshire-Eaton both remain part of the urban agglomeration of Cookshire-Eaton. The community had a population of 5,171 in the Canada 2011 Census.
