Martin Kmetec, O.F.M. Conv. (born 10 November 1956) is the Archbishop of Izmir and a Conventual Franciscan friar. He was appointed to the episcopate as Archbishop of Izmir on 8 December 2020. Biography Martin Kmetec was born in Ptuj Ptuj (; german: Pettau, ; la, Poetovium/Poetovio) is a town in northeastern Slovenia that is the seat of the Municipality of Ptuj. The Most Reverend is a style applied to certain religious figures, primarily within the historic denominations of Christianity, but occasionally in some more modern traditions also. It is a variant of the more common style "The Reverend".
