The Soundtrack Of Our Lives
The Soundtrack of Our Lives, often abbreviated T.S.O.O.L., was a Swedish rock band that formed in Gothenburg in 1995 and disbanded in 2012. The band's style draws heavily from sixties and seventies rock and punk, such as Rolling Stones and Iggy and the Stooges. Psychedelic rock is another strong influence for the band, and psychedelic and mystical references are also prominent in the band's lyrics and aesthetics. The abbreviation 'OEOC', which features on all their albums, refers to the phrase "as above, so below" from Hermeticism. Formation The Soundtrack of Our Lives was originally formed by Torbjörn "Ebbot" Lundberg, Björn Olsson, Ian Person, Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm, Fredrik Sandsten and Martin Hederos. Mattias Hellberg
Mattias Hellberg (born 13 June 1973) is a Swedish musician. Hellberg has worked with a variety of Swedish bands and artists in different genres, both as a permanent member and as guest or session member. Recording career Hellbergs career started when his band Nymphet Noodlers was discovered and later produced by Ebbot from The Soundtrack of our Lives. Wayne Kramer of the MC5 once said that the Nymphet Noodlers was one of his favorite bands. Nymphet Noodlers broke up in 1996, but was reunited for a concert at Way out West August 2011. Former Nymphet colleagues Hederos and Hellberg recorded 8 cover songs meant to be a demo to get gigs in bars in 1996. Old friend Niclas Stenholm released the songs on the album M. Hederos M. Hellberg in 2000. Hederos & Hellberg turned out to be a totally unexpected success. Esbjörn Svensson Trio (or e.s.t.) was a Swedish jazz piano trio formed in 1993 consisting of Esbjörn Svensson (piano), Dan Berglund (double bass), and Magnus Öström (drums). Its music had classical, rock, pop, and techno elements. It listed classical composer Béla Bartók and rock band Radiohead as influences. Its style involved conventional jazz and the use of electronic effects and multitrack recording. Dan Berglund
Dan Berglund (born 5 May 1963) is a Swedish musician who mainly plays the upright bass and is known within jazz and fusion. Biography Berglund was familiar with Swedish folk music as well as with pop and rock music. At the age of ten he started playing rock guitar, but later changed to bass guitar. As part of his musical training at the ''Birka Folkhögskola'' in Östersund he came to pick up the upright bass and played in the regional symphony orchestra, with whom he also had guest performances and first television appearances. In 1990 he moved to Stockholm to study at the Kungliga Musikhögskolan. There he played in the group '' Jazz Furniture '' and in the quintet of Lina Nyberg, where he met Esbjörn Svensson. From 1993 he was a member of the highly successful Esbjörn Svensson Trio, with whom he recorded numerous albums and toured worldwide. He was a member of the trio until the death of Svensson in 2008.
