Martin Fuchs
Martin Fuchs (born 13 July 1992) is a Swiss Olympic show jumping rider. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he finished sixth in the team and ninth in the individual competition. In 2019 he won the individual gold at the 2019 European Championship in Rotterdam. As of 31 May 2022, he is ranked as the World Number 1 showjumper by the FEI. Jumping plays a major role in many equestrian sports, such as show jumping, fox hunting, steeplechasing, and eventing. The biomechanics of jumping, the influence of the rider, and the heritability of jumping prowess have all been the focus of research. The team jumping in equestrian at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held at National Equestrian Center on 14, 16 and 17 August. The medals were presented by Camiel Eurlings, IOC member, The Netherlands and Ingmar De Vos, President of the FEI. Competition format Five rounds of jumping were conducted in total. The Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) is an annual equestrian festival running for 12 weeks between January and April in Wellington, Florida. Each of the 12 weeks is considered its own horse show, with separate competitions, as well as competitions that run throughout the festival.
