Martin Ford (politician)
Martin A. Ford is a Scottish politician, who is the Scottish Green Party councillor for the East Garioch (ward), East Garioch ward of Aberdeenshire Council. He had a prominent role in the consideration of a planning application for a golf course at Balmedie. Education and early life Ford trained as a botanist, completing a doctorate University of Wales (at University College Swansea) in 1986; 'Pollinator-mediated interactions between out-breeding annual weeds'. In 1988 he moved to Aberdeenshire to work at the Scottish Agricultural College, North of Scotland College of Agriculture. Scottish Green Party
The Scottish Greens (also known as the Scottish Green Party; gd, Pàrtaidh Uaine na h-Alba ; sco, Scots Green Pairtie) are a green political party in Scotland. The party has seven MSPs in the Scottish Parliament as of May 2021. As of the 2022 local elections, the party sits on 13 of the 32 Scottish local councils, with a total of 35 councillors. They hold two ministerial posts in the third Sturgeon government following a power-sharing agreement with the SNP in August 2021, marking the first time Green party politicians will be in government in the UK. ''STV News'' is a Scottish news service produced by STV. The news department produces two regional services covering STV's Channel 3 franchise areas of Northern and Central Scotland. STV's news programmes are produced from studios in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen with reporters also based at newsrooms in Dundee and Inverness and political correspondents based at Holyrood and Westminster.
