Martin Finnegan
Martin Finnegan (8 October 1979 – 3 May 2008)''Isle of Man Examiner'' pp2 dated 6 May 2008 was an Irish Motorcycle racing, motorcycle racer. Career Born in Lusk, County Dublin, Finnegan took up riding at a young age. At first he went grass track racing where he tasted success. In his later teens his boss at the time, Tony Carton, offered Martin the lend of a bike to try his hand at circuit racing. They went out that day and Martin did almost 100 laps and caught the bug. A winner of 43 Irish road races since 1997, in addition to winning the 2000 Junior Newcomers Manx Grand Prix, Finnegan scored a podium at the 2005 Isle of Man TT where he became the fastest Irishman to lap the course at over 127 mph. At the 2007 Isle of Man TT, Finnegan brought back to racing at competitive level on the Island the iconic Italian MV Agusta brand in the TT Superstock race, where he missed the podium reaching the 4th place on board of an F4 bike. The Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy races are an annual motorcycle racing event run on the Isle of Man in May/June of most years since its inaugural race in 1907. The event is often called one of the most dangerous racing events in the world as many competitors have died. Richard Britton (motorcycle Racer)
Richard Britton (24 April 1970 – 18 September 2005) was one of Ireland's leading motorcycle road racers, as well as a team manager. He won the Regal 600 Championship four times and was the fastest Irishman to lap the Isle of Man TT circuit. After his death at the Ballybunion road races, he was honoured as Irish Motorcyclist of the Year. Career Britton's racing career began in the 1994 Irish Clubman series, which saw him win the 400cc class. In 1998 he moved to race on pure road circuits where he was sponsored by Alan Gregg of the Schimmell race team. At the end of that year he won the first of his four Regal 600 Championships but an accident at the 1999 season-opening Cookstown 100 saw him sidelined for most of the season with a broken arm. In 2000 Britton was taken under the wing of new sponsor PJ O'Kane and was drafted into the O'Kane racing team, after parting ways with Schimmell Racing at the Isle of Man TT. The 2013 Isle of Man TT Races were held between the Saturday 25 May and Friday 7 June 2013 on the 37.73-mile Isle of Man TT Mountain Course in the Isle of Man. The event celebrated the 90th anniversary of the first Sidecar TT with a special parade lap for racing sidecar outfits. The 2013 Isle of Man TT Festival also included the Pre-TT Classic Races on 24, 25 & 27 May 2013 and the Post-TT Races on 8 June 2013 and both events held on the Billown Circuit. The Blue Riband event of race meeting the Senior TT race was won by John McGuinness and raising his tally of victories to 20 Isle of Man TT wins and also breaking the outright course record in the Superbike TT with a lap at an average speed of 131.671. 2012 Isle of Man TT were held between Saturday 26 May and Saturday 9 June 2012 on the 37.73-mile Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. The 2012 Isle of Man TT Festival also included the Pre-TT Classic Races on 25, 26 & 28 May 2012 and the Post-TT Races on 9 June 2012 and both events held on the Billown Circuit.
