Martin Fillmore Clark, Jr. (born June 23, 1959) is an author and retired Virginia circuit court judge. Biography Clark's first book, ''The Many Aspects of Mobile Home Living'', was published by Alfred A. Knopf in 2000 and was a ''New York Times'' Notable Book for 2000, a Book-of-the-Month Club selection and a finalist for The Stephen Crane First Fiction Award. His second novel, ''Plain Heathen Mischief'', was released in 2004 and was also published by Knopf. Clark's third novel, ''The Legal Limit'', released in April 2008, again by Knopf, was a ''Washington Post'' Best Book of the Year for 2008, and, in October, 2009, was announced as the winner of the Library of Virginia's People's Choice Award for fiction. ''The Jezebel Remedy'' was published in June 2015 and appeared on several bestseller lists, rising to number three on Barnes and Noble's Top 100 Books. Martin Clark (footballer, Born 1968)
Martin John Clark (born 13 October 1968 in Motherwell), is a Scottish football player and coach. Clark began his career with Hamilton Academical but did not make a senior appearance for them. He was signed for Clyde, by his father John, and spent two years with the club before transferring to Nottingham Forest. His move to Nottingham was unsuccessful, and after two loan spells, he joined Mansfield Town. He returned to Scotland in 1992, joining Clyde's arch-rivals Partick Thistle. He stayed there for a season, before rejoining Clyde. He went on to have spells with Macclesfield Town and Albion Rovers, before retiring in 1997 after a short spell in the juniors with Armadale Thistle. Martin Clark (born 12 September 1970) is an English former footballer who last played for Northern Premier League side Chorley, retiring after a string of knee injuries in February 2010. Clark played for Crewe Alexandra and Rotherham United in The Football League. Career Early career Clark began his career with Preston North End but did not make a senior appearance for them. He signed for Lancaster City where he made over 140 appearances the club before transferring to Accrington Stanley. Martin Clark (born 27 October 1968) is an English people, English organiser of snooker tournaments and retired professional snooker player. Career Clark reached ten Snooker world rankings, ranking tournament quarter-finals in his career, but never progressed any further. He reached the last 16 of the World Championship three times – 1991, 1992 and 1993, and also in 1992 reached the first major semi-final of his career at the 1992 World Matchplay (snooker), World Matchplay by knocking out defending champion Gary Wilkinson (snooker player), Gary Wilkinson. Martin Clark (30 September 1938 – 5 August 2017) was a British historian noted for his work on modern Italy. He published at least four books, but is best known for ''Modern Italy, 1871 to the Present'', first published by Longman in 1984. Described as 'authoritative', it was revised twice. For the last two years of his life, he suffered from Parkinson's disease. Early life Martin Nile Clark was born on 30 September 1938, in Worthing, West Sussex, the third child to Alfred Clark, a civil servant and his wife Muriel. During the war the family moved to Llandudno, where Clark attended the Ysgol John Bright, and learned to speak Welsh. Martin "Marty" Clarke ( ga, Máirtín Ó Cléirigh; born 13 November 1987) is a Gaelic and former Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 2007 to 2009 and again from 2012 to 2014. Underage Clarke was an outstanding underage Gaelic football talent. Martin Clarke (born 22 May 1967) is an Australian former professional basketball player and coach. He is the former head coach of the National Basketball League's Adelaide 36ers and was an assistant coach of the Australian Boomers at the 2012 London Olympics. In 2018, Clarke was hired as the director of the NBA Global Academy at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence in Canberra.
