Martin Burkert
Martin Burkert (born 14 October 1964) is a German politician and member of the SPD. Political career Burkert was born in Würzburg. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since the 2013 national elections. He has since been serving on the Committee on Transport and, from 2013 on, the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure; he chaired the committee from 2013 to 2017. In his first term from 2005 until 2009, he was also a member of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. In addition to his committee assignments, Burkert served as deputy chairman of the German-Mexican Parliamentary Friendship Group from 2014 until 2019. He was also a member of the German-Brazilian Parliamentary Friendship Group and of the German-Swiss Parliamentary Friendship Group. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (german: Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands, ; SPD, ) is a centre-left social democratic political party in Germany. Alexander Dobrindt (born 7 June 1970) is a German politician of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU). Between 2013 and 2017, he served as Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel. Previously, he was the Secretary General of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria under the leadership of party chairman Horst Seehofer from 2009. Early life Dobrindt was born in Peißenberg, Bavaria. He graduated from the Weilheim Highschool in 1989 and continued his studies in the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich finishing with a Master of Arts in Sociology in 1995. The Berlin S-Bahn () is a rapid transit railway system in and around Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It has been in operation under this name since December 1930, having been previously called the special tariff area ''Berliner Stadt-, Ring- und Vorortbahnen'' (Berlin city, orbital, and suburban railways). Party-list proportional representation (list-PR) is a subset of proportional representation electoral systems in which multiple candidates are elected (e.g., elections to parliament) through their position on an electoral list.
