Martin Blunden
Martin Blunden is a British firefighter. He was the Chief Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service until he stepped down in 2022. Fire Service Career History Martin joined the Fire and Rescue Service with Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service in 1992 as a Retained Duty System (part time on call) Firefighter serving at the local station in the community he grew up in before becoming a Whole time Duty System firefighter in 1994. Scottish Fire And Rescue Service
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS; gd, Seirbheis Smàlaidh agus Teasairginn na h-Alba) is the national fire and rescue service of Scotland. It was formed by the merger of eight regional fire services in the country on 1 April 2013. It thus became the largest fire brigade in the United Kingdom, surpassing the London Fire Brigade. Consolidation After a consultation, the Scottish Government confirmed on 8 September 2011 that a single fire and rescue service would be created in Scotland to replace the eight existing local authority fire and rescue services. Alasdair Hay
Alasdair George Hay, (born 24 December 1961) is a British firefighter. He was the first Chief Fire Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Early life Hay was born on 24 December 1961 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Career Hay was a firefighter with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service from September 1983 to October 1992. He was a senior instructor at the Scottish Fire Services College from 1992 to 1994. In 1994, he joined Tayside Fire and Rescue Service. By 2009, he had risen to the rank of Deputy Chief Fire Officer. Between May 2011 and March 2012, he was seconded to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Advisory Unit. Returning to the Tayside Fire and Rescue Service, he was appointed Acting Chief Fire Officer on 1 April 2012. Hereford And Worcester Fire And Rescue Service
The Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) is the statutory fire and rescue service covering Herefordshire and Worcestershire in the West Midlands region of England. The service covers an area of , and a population of around 780,000 people. The service was created in 1974 when The County Of Hereford Fire Brigade and The Worcester City & County Fire Brigade were merged to create The County Of Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade. Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) is the statutory fire and rescue service for the county of Hertfordshire, England. HFRS covers an area of and a population of 1.19million. It was also formerly awarded by Commonwealth countries, most of which now have their own honours systems.
