Martin Andersen Nexø (26 June 1869 – 1 June 1954) was a Danish writer. He was one of the authors in the Modern Breakthrough movement in Danish art and literature. He was a socialist throughout his life and during the second world war moved to the Soviet Union, and afterwards to Dresden in East Germany. Biography Martin Andersen Nexø was born into a large family (the fourth of eleven children) in Christianshavn, at the time an impoverished district of Copenhagen. In 1877 his family moved to Nexø on Bornholm, and he adopted the name of this town as his last name. Having been an industrial worker before, in Nexø he attended a folk high school, and later worked as a journalist. He spent the mid-1890s travelling in Southern Europe, and his book ''Soldage'' (1903) (English: ''Days in the Sun'') is largely based on those travels. Martin Erik Andersen (born 1964) is a Danish sculptor who also works with drawings, textiles and sound. A former professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he was a recipient of the Thorvaldsen Medal in 2014. Biography Andersen lives and works in Copenhagen. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (1985–92) and also in Cairo. 2009-2018 he was a professor at the Academy's department of sculpture. He has been involved in a sexual harassment case at the academy and has been fired from his position in 2018. His installations draw on a variety of techniques and materials including textiles, creations on paper, video, sound and light as well as scaffolding, plants and polyester. Martin Masai Andersen
Martin Masai Andersen (born 1972) is a Danish photographer, art director and designer, based in South London. He also lectures at a number of universities. Andersen has made long-term documentary photography projects on football fans and dog shows, and made music videos for The Breeders, Lush and Iceage. His animation work has won a Clio Award and been shown in group exhibitions at Manchester Art Gallery and at SeaCity Museum in Southampton. Life and work Andersen grew up in Denmark and moved to London in 1993. He earned a BA in visual communication design from Ravensbourne University London (1993–1996) and a MA in graphic design from the Royal College of Art in London (1996–1998). Martin Stig Andersen (born 1973) is a Danish composer and sound designer, best known for his work on '' Limbo'' and ''Inside'', as well as contributions to '' Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus''. Career Andersen studied orchestral composition at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark. After graduating in 2003, he went on to study electro-acoustic composition at City University in London. Andersen cited spectral composers such as Tristan Murail as inspiration.
