Marta Marrero (born May 18, 1969), better known by her stage name Martika ( ), is an American pop singer and actress. Whittier () is a city in Southern California in Los Angeles County, California, Los Angeles County, part of the Gateway Cities. ''Bounce Back'' is the third and final album from American freestyle and dance-pop singer Alisha. It was her first album released by MCA Records after leaving RCA Records. Background After failing to garner mainstream success with her second album ''Nightwalkin''', Alisha parted with RCA Records and signed a new deal with MCA Records for her third album. Alisha Ann Itkin (born April 16, 1968) is an American freestyle and dance-pop singer who had several club hits in the 1980s and 1990s. Early life and career Alisha was born on April 16, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York City. At age 8, she began receiving vocal lessons and was coaxed into the music business by her parents, who arranged for studio recording sessions and recitals. Background The album marked the solo debut for Martika, and spawned the American #1 single "Toy Soldiers". The song is about drug addiction, but can sound like a break-up ballad.
