Martha Rina Victoria Roldós Bucaram ( Guayaquil, Ecuador; 1963) is an Ecuadorian economist and politician. Her parents were the former president of the Republic Jaime Roldós Aguilera and Martha Bucaram, who both died in a plane crash in Loja Province in 1981. She has been a deputy of the National Congress and the Ecuadorian Constituent Assembly, representing the Ethics and Democracy Network party, which is led by her uncle León Roldós Aguilera León Roldós Aguilera (born 21 July 1942) is an Ecuadorian politician. He was born in Guayaquil in 1942. His mother died during his birth. He studied law at the state University of Guayaquil. He became secretary of the Municipality of Guayaq .... Martha (Hebrew language, Hebrew: מָרְתָא‎) is a Bible, biblical figure described in the Gospels of Gospel of Luke, Luke and Gospel of John, John. Together with her siblings Lazarus of Bethany, Lazarus and Mary of Bethany, she is described as living in the village of Bethany near Jerusalem. She was witness to Jesus resurrecting her brother, Lazarus of Bethany, Lazarus. Etymology of the name The name ''Martha'' is a Latin transliteration of the Koine Greek Μάρθα, itself a translation of the Aramaic מָרְתָא‎ ''Mârtâ,'' "the mistress" or "the lady", from מרה "mistress," feminine of מר "master." The Aramaic form occurs in a Nabatean inscription found at Puteoli, and now in the Naples Museum; it is dated AD 5 (Corpus Inscr.
