Martez Harrison
Martez Harrison (born October 1, 1993) is an American basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC). At UMKC, Harrison was the 2015 Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year, Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was named the school's first NCAA Men's Basketball All-Americans, All-American in the history of its UMKC Kangaroos men's basketball, men's basketball program. College career Harrison, a 5'11 point guard, was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Following his high school career at University Academy and a prep season at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, he held no scholarship offers from high-major schools. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. British Basketball League
The British Basketball League (BBL) is a men's professional basketball league in Great Britain and represents the highest level of play in the countries. The league is contested by 10 teams from England and Scotland. There are no clubs however from Wales or Northern Ireland. The BBL runs three additional knockout competitions alongside the BBL Championship which are the BBL Cup, the BBL Trophy and the end-of-season BBL Play-offs. The BBL sits above the National Basketball League and the Scottish Basketball Championship which effectively form the second tier of British basketball. There is currently no automatic promotion or relegation between the English and Scottish leagues and the BBL because of the franchise system in use in the BBL although several clubs have been successful in making the step up from the EBL in recent years. In basketball, free throws or foul shots are unopposed attempts to score points by shooting from behind the free-throw line (informally known as the foul line or the charity stripe), a line situated at the end of the Key (basketball), restricted area.
