Martensville
Martensville is a city located in Saskatchewan, Canada, just north of Saskatoon, and southwest of Clarkboro Ferry which crosses the South Saskatchewan River. It is a bedroom community of Saskatoon. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344. The community is served by the Saskatoon/Richter Field Aerodrome located immediately west of the city across Highway 12. History In 1939, Isaac and Dave Martens purchased land north of Saskatoon. They then sold three small parcels of land to people who wanted to move out of Saskatoon and, as a result, the community of Martensville was created. Many Mennonites who worked in Saskatoon chose to live there to retain connections to the large Mennonite community of the Hague- Osler area. Nancy Heppner
Nancy Heppner (born 1971) is a former Saskatchewan Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, who represented the constituency of Martensville-Warman and its predecessor Martensville from 2007 to 2020. Early life She was born in Swift Current, and graduated from high school in 1989. She went on to postsecondary education at the University of British Columbia. Political career Heppner got involved in politics in 1995, doorknocking for her father Ben Heppner. In 2000 she became the executive assistant for Member of Parliament Carol Skelton. She then moved on as Question Period coordinator for Stephen Harper until 2005. Nancy worked for the Honourable Bev Oda (Minister of Canadian Heritage; MP for Durham) as her Director of Communications in early 2006. Warman is the ninth largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is approximately north of the city of Saskatoon, and northeast of the city of Martensville, Saskatchewan, Martensville. The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. Martensville (electoral District)
Martensville was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada, named after the city of Martensville, located north of Saskatoon. The electoral district was created through the ''Representation Act, 2002'' (Saskatchewan), mostly out of the former constituency of Rosthern. The city of Warman was also located in the riding. Smaller communities in the district included the towns of Hague, Waldheim, Osler, and Dalmeny; and the village of Hepburn. The constituency was abolished for the 2016 election. It was essentially replaced by Martensville-Warman, a new constituency encompassing a portion of the old electoral district. 2016 Saskatchewan General Election
The 2016 Saskatchewan general election, was held on April 4, 2016, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The Lieutenant Governor dissolved the Legislature on March 8, 2016, setting the election date for April 4. The election resulted in the Saskatchewan Party winning its third majority government. This is the first time in 90 years that a party other than the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) or its predecessor, the Saskatchewan Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) has won three consecutive majority governments in Saskatchewan. It is also the first time that a centre-right party has won three consecutive elections in the province.
