Marshall Field III (September 28, 1893 – November 8, 1956) was an American investment banker, publisher, racehorse owner/breeder, philanthropist, grandson of businessman Marshall Field, heir to the Marshall Field department store fortune, and a leading financial supporter and founding board member of Saul Alinsky's community organizing network Industrial Areas Foundation. Stagg Field
Amos Alonzo Stagg Field is the name of two successive football fields for the University of Chicago. Beyond sports, the first Stagg Field (1893–1957) is remembered for its role in a landmark scientific achievement of Enrico Fermi and the Metallurgical Laboratory during the Manhattan Project. The site of the first artificial nuclear chain reaction, which occurred within the field's west viewing-stands structure, received designation as a National Historic Landmark on February 18, 1965. On October 15, 1966, which is the day that the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 was enacted creating the National Register of Historic Places, it was added to that as well. Marshall Army Airfield
Marshall Army Airfield (MAAF) is a military airfield located on Fort Riley, Kansas, United States. It was opened in 1921. The primary mission of MAAF is to provide fully integrated fixed base helicopter operations for the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. Airfield operations and services include Base Flight Operations, Control Tower, and Ground Approach Control Facility; USAF weather; Airport Safety; Air Space Management; Flight Simulator; Rapid Refuel Facility; and Crash/Fire/Rescue station. The airfield has an FAA approved instrument approach. MAAF is the home of the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, which currently has approximately 2,200 Soldiers assigned. The brigade currently has Black Hawks, Apaches and Chinooks at Fort Riley — the number fluctuates as aircraft go through maintenance and reset rotations. Field-Marshall was a brand of farm tractor which was manufactured by Marshall, Sons & Co. of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom. Field-Marshalls were in production from 1945 to 1957. However, the first single-cylinder Marshall came into production in 1930. Earlier Marshall tractor line The first single-cylinder Marshall tractor to be introduced was the Marshall 15/30 in 1930. It had a bore with a stroke (= 8.237 litres) and the maximum speed was 550 r.p.m., or 9.1666 revolutions per second. In 1932 the 15/30 was upgraded to become the Marshall 18/30. This model featured the same bore and stroke dimensions but the maximum r.p.m. was increased and the tractor's transmission was heavily modified. The next single-cylinder Marshall to be introduced was the Marshall 12/20 in 1935. This tractor was of a completely new design, with a -inch bore and a stroke (= 4.17 litres).
