Marsden High School
Marsden High School (MHS) is a school located in Meadowbank, New South Wales, Australia. It is a co-educational high school operated by the New South Wales Department of Education with students from years 7 to 12. The school was established in 1959. History Established in January 1959, Marsden High was originally named Ermington High School until March 1959, when it gained its present name. It was located on at Winbourne Street, West Ryde. On 26 June 2018, the NSW Government announced that Marsden High School will be moving to the new education precinct at Meadowbank which is to be built on part of the TAFE NSW Meadowbank campus. The school was relocated from Winbourne street to the new purposely built site and opened in 27 April 2022. The old site on Winbourne street is under construction to be rebuilt as a new multisport facility. Dan Parks
Daniel Arthur Parks (born 26 May 1978) is an Australian-born former international rugby union player and now coach. His primary playing position was at fly-half. Parks played professionally for Pro12 sides Glasgow Warriors, Cardiff Blues and Connacht Rugby as well as English side Leeds Tykes. He secured international caps for from 2004 to 2012. Parks is also the record holder for points scored in the Pro12 with a combined total of 1,582 points. Parks announced his retirement from playing rugby on 25 June 2014. Youth and amateur career Parks was brought up in Sydney, and early on he played rugby for West Harbour RUFC, Southern Districts RUFC and Eastern Suburbs RUFC which brought about the nickname 'Compass'. Richard Gill (conductor)
Richard James Gill (4 November 1941 – 28 October 2018) was an Australian conductor of choral, orchestral and operatic works. He was known as a music educator and for his advocacy for music education of children. Life and career Gill was born and raised in the Sydney suburb of Eastwood where he attended Marist College Eastwood. Prior to becoming a professional conductor, he was a music teacher at Marsden High School, West Ryde, in Sydney. One of his students was Kim Williams who later became a lifelong friend. In 1969, he was the founding conductor of the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra in Sydney. He continued as conductor in 1973–74 and returned in 1979 to conduct the orchestra's 10th anniversary concert. In 1971 he studied at the Orff Institute of the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Luke Fowler
Luke Fowler (born 1978) is an artist, 16mm filmmaker and musician based in Glasgow. He studied printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. He creates cinematic collages that have often been linked to the British Free Cinema movement of the 1950s. His para-documentary films have explored counter cultural figures including Scottish psychiatrist R. D. Laing, English composer Cornelius Cardew and Marxist-Historian E.P. Thompson. As well portraits of musicians and composers he has also made films and installations that deal with the nature of sound itself. Luke Fowler has worked with a number of collaborators including Eric La Casa, George Clark and Peter Hutton Mark Fell, Lee Patterson, Toshiya Tsunoda and Richard Youngs. Leigh Hatcher (born 25 August 1955) is a veteran broadcast Australian journalist and author. Hatcher's career highlights include working as the bureau chief for the Macquarie Radio Network in the Canberra Press Gallery. He has also worked at various radio stations including 2CA in Canberra and 5DN in Adelaide. Hatcher was also employed by the Seven Network where he worked as a political correspondent in Canberra as well as a European correspondent when he lived in London, between the years of 1983 and 1985. After returning from London, Hatcher took a break from television and returned to the radio station 5DN and hosted a radio show.
